100% VA P&T with a MedBoard

I'll preface this by saying I did 9 years 6 months Active Duty Air Force, and I'm in the Air National Guard now. Coming up on 13 total years of service in November.
I was recently rated 100% P&T by the VA for things that I had while on duty (non-anxiety related)

I'm being considered for a MEB for Anxiety/Panic Disorder. Nothing has been submitted yet. I have an LOD that states it was aggravated by Guard orders. My MedGroup says I have the three following options:
1. Traditional MEB - I think this is the IDES I keep reading about?
2. Legacy MEB - Assuming this is the LDES
3. Request to just separate through my commander/ETS in 9 months

What I would like to get out of this is to separate (of course) and try to see if I can qualify for Tricare for Life. I was thinking going the Legacy MEB route.
Will this reduce or mess with my VA rating in any way? I don't want the military touching my my current ratings which is why I'm also considering just requesting to get out instead.

Lastly, I have a pending disability claim for this Anxiety/Panic Disorder but I'm not sure if it would get approved or denied just yet. Should I continue to let that go through (haven't submitted yet) but I don't want that messing with my current ratings either.

Thanks for any and all help. This stuff can get overwhelming when I'm hearing wrong information from the people who process these MEB's at my unit...

Edit: Extra details

Following because inquiring minds would like to know!

Are you trying to separate or medically retire? I think those are two widely different paths...?

Medically retire if it looks like I can get Tricare from it, but process may take up to a year, or even longer from what I've been told.
Separate if it becomes the easier thing to do.

Are you looking for Tricare for yourself or family? Because at 100% P&T all your medical issues should get taken care of by the VA and your family would be taken care of by CHAMPVA:

CHAMPVA Beneficiary? What You Should Know

The Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA), is a health care benefits program that provides coverage to the spouse or widow(er) and to the dependent children of a qualifying Veteran or Servicemember who:

  • is rated permanently and totally disabled due to a service-connected disability
Not sure how good CHAMPVA is for family members but for yourself with the VA choice program you can see local doctors.
The only benefit I can see with retiring is that you are offered and can pay for vision and dental insurance for your family. Not sure if at 100% P&T you are offered to purchase the same vision and dental plans for family members like retiree's are offered.

IDES meb and Tricare. Since you already have a rating for the unfit condition, your IDES should go more quickly Unless mistakes/appeals are needed for some reason.
