I'll preface this by saying I did 9 years 6 months Active Duty Air Force, and I'm in the Air National Guard now. Coming up on 13 total years of service in November.
I was recently rated 100% P&T by the VA for things that I had while on duty (non-anxiety related)
I'm being considered for a MEB for Anxiety/Panic Disorder. Nothing has been submitted yet. I have an LOD that states it was aggravated by Guard orders. My MedGroup says I have the three following options:
1. Traditional MEB - I think this is the IDES I keep reading about?
2. Legacy MEB - Assuming this is the LDES
3. Request to just separate through my commander/ETS in 9 months
What I would like to get out of this is to separate (of course) and try to see if I can qualify for Tricare for Life. I was thinking going the Legacy MEB route.
Will this reduce or mess with my VA rating in any way? I don't want the military touching my my current ratings which is why I'm also considering just requesting to get out instead.
Lastly, I have a pending disability claim for this Anxiety/Panic Disorder but I'm not sure if it would get approved or denied just yet. Should I continue to let that go through (haven't submitted yet) but I don't want that messing with my current ratings either.
Thanks for any and all help. This stuff can get overwhelming when I'm hearing wrong information from the people who process these MEB's at my unit...
Edit: Extra details
