I submitted my paperwork. Jan 3. I am supposed to be receiving my 199 any day. My unit is adamant on sending me and bc I haven’t received it yet, they have every right to. I’m set to get 100% Va and severance from DOD. Was going to appeal and try to get 30 due to the fact the DOD acknowledged only one part of my injury leading me to the MEB, but I have a job lined up with solid healthcare so I’m not worried about the tricare. I’ll take the severance bc I’m getting a v device. Anyway, of my 199 comes while I’m at JRTC am I SOL?

Are you active duty? Typically they don't want you to be on leave or doing anything that will cause you to be away because findings need to be signed within 6 days. Let your PEBLO know. They can talk to leadership if they are not supposes to do that.

Also, I would appeal. Tricare for you and your family for life is way more important than you think. I retired early and I couldn't have done that without my wife's tricare that she got from medically retiring. It's worth thousands of dollars per month compared to a family of 4 getting it even if 1 person's premium is being picked up by the company. I encourage you to talk to JAG and or a private attorney and get their opinion. Its worth the time, money and effort if it means you can have a guaranteed retirement check for life and tricare for life for you and your family. I will send you private attorney references via direct message.

If you’re going through the MEB process you shouldn’t be allowed to go to JRTC. As soon as I started my process they gave me a memorandum stating I couldn’t go, nor go on any deployments.

yeah that would make sense. Apparently on paper according to my installations guidelines since I haven’t received my 199. I’m still “fit for duty”

That’s insane. I was found unfit for duty on January 14th. But I just received my 199 on Tuesday.
