I am in awe at how long it took for you to get the CIS signature

How did you get your proposed rating (27 June)?
I just kept calling day after day until someone was willing to email it lol. Didn’t take many tries though

More than likely he was waiting on his NARSUM to be complete before the commander would write his CIS. My commander had wrote mine too early the first time and and after waiting months for the NARSUM he had to write it again.

VA Rep sent case back to PEBLO - 10 Sep 24

called the peblo 23 Sep for an update he said 2-3 weeks and then they will review my case. Emailed him today (7 Oct) and he said the same exact thing he did 2 weeks ago. Does anyone have any advice on what i should do or who i should reach out to? Im tired of them just sitting on my case and giving me the same answer or not answering at all.

Your PEBLO is a paper pusher. There isn't anything he or she can do. They will reach out to you when they have something for your to review and sign. Typically the PEBLO is waiting on the VA or the NARSUM, IPEB findings, FPEB findings or VARR findings.

Since there isn't anything you can do to speed up the process I would use this time to learn as much as I can about IDES. This gives you time to strategize to get the best outcome. You know what condition(s) you are referred to and so you can find out your chances of being found unfit for them ahead. Then go over all of your VA claims that weren't referred. Are any of them causing you issues to do your job? If so, now is the time to work on that front to hopefully add them as unfit via a FPEB. You can start by ensuring you have a profile for any condition that you are trying to add. There is that and so much more!

thank you for this. i will definitely look more into everything regarding the IDES and all my findings.

also what if the peblos are hard to get a hold of and sometimes wait days to hear back from them? is that normal?

Yep! totally normal. They typically only reach out when they need something. So when your NARSUM is completed he or she will contact you and say its in. They give it to you to review and then you have 5 days to concur, do a rebuttal, and or IMR. You select your choice and sign and send it to them to continue pushing that paper LOL.

thank you for all this information. i will make sure to keep checking my emails for when that time comes.

Word of advice on the next phase of y9ur process because I am going through it as well. Read through your NARSUM with your peblo and triple check all required signatures are on there. Prior to your case being sent to the PEB it will be reviewed and if anything is missing of incorrect it will be sent back and could delay things for weeks. If you see something missing or a piece of info that is inaccurate, remedy it prior to signing the NARSUM and sending it up. The case review could take about 10 days before it is sent to the IPEB. Once your case is sent to PEB they have roughly 16 days to get back to you with a proposed rating and decision. However, this timeline is so generic and it could easily take longer depending on a multitude of factors. Just be paitent and trust your PEBLO will (because they have to) reach out to you immidietly once your results are in.

I will definitely read through it. I’m just waiting to get to that point in this process. Have you looked at your NARSUM already?

Yeah I read through it and signed it on Sep 30 and I got myfss email on oct 2nd. Haven't got my ratings back yet but the ODC told me to expect the IPEB findings within 3-4 weeks. It really just depends on when the VA wants to rate everything and submit it. The second the VA does their part the DOD can finish theirs.

I just got an email from my PEBLO and i went from being #6 in line on 23 September for them to send my case to the PCM to write the NARSUM to now being #8 and it wont be sent until the end of November so i still have a long wait Im guessing.

In my experience man it takes a long time for the NARSUM to be completed, mine was put into the queue to be written in November of 2023, and I didn't have anything completed till mid 2024. Its a horrendous wait but so is this entire process...

Wow that is an insane wait! I guess I got very lucky because my last c&p exam was on aug28 and my narsum was ready and everything was signed and sent up for the IPEB on SEP 29.

oh yeah! my last C&P was 8 Aug. ive been talking with the peblo and he said i got pushed back due to people on med extensions, IRILOS, ARILOS, and code removals. im just annoyed because my spouse PCS’d in July and im still stuck at my base until i get done.

he said he will hopefully have my local meb package done before the thanksgiving holiday. so im hopin thats the case if not sooner!

Question for you about the NARSUM,

Did you do a medical exam with your primary care provider on base or MH provider to complete the NARSUM and was it like a C&P exam with the VA?
I have my base exam next week with the MH doctor and I'm just curious how it's going to go since they have never seen me and yet they are doing a NARSUM on me that will be the bases of my disability % in the military.

Thanks
