Hello all, just posting my timeline to see if it's slow or normal, and if there's anything I can do to speed it up.

02SEP25 - Referred to MEB
05SEP25 - IDES Brief
17SEP25 - Signed Counseling
01OCT25 - first C&P exam
05OCT25 - last C&P exam
17OCT25 - Received my exams and sent to a MEB Provider
22OCT25 - Received and signed my NARSUM
24OCT25 - Sent to the PEB
07JAN26 - VA Claim closed
08JAN26 - Proposed ratings sent to PEB

It has been roughly 2 weeks and still nothing about my proposed ratings or DA199. My Peblo said it is "Pending PEB Signature" as of last Thursday.

I am in the same stage as you. It’s really just a waiting game even more at this point. the PEB has been taking about 30 days to get the DA199 back as of lately is what I was told but I know a lot of people that have gotten it much quicker

PEB right now is running about 30-45 days. that's per my PEBLO (Ft Knox) and Lawyer (Ft Gordon). Some sites are even longer but most are said to be in that 30-45 day timeline.

Is this 30-45 days after VA proposed rating?

Yes. From what I’ve been told, the PEB can’t proceed until the VA rating has been proposed.
That’s actually crazy, sucks when you see other timelines take only a day, maybe it’ll get better though as the holidays are past us

If you don’t mind me asking, what condition ?
My biggest one is MS which is 60% (Not an unfitting condition I guess), for the DoD it’s only 2 conditions, 20% for my back, and then they gave me 0% for full body tremors because my Neurologist at the time said it was pre-existing

I claimed like 48 conditions and got rated for 38 of them which is why VA is so high

that sucks in a lot of ways. How many years do you have

If you care to share, did the Va also rate your back at 20%?

Yes. Now that whole pre-existing thing started an investigation on me and it concluded that it wasn’t pre-existing, so no idea if appealing would be fast or not, but it might raise that number. I asked Gemini and it says I can use ABCMR after I get out and I might be able to provide that documentation and get my DoD rating changed, meaning retirement

Ahh. So you’re no where close to CRDP. But hey, at least you have the VA 100 percent. And you’re free from the Army Bs
Not even close haha. Yes that is what I’m excited for, still a bummer, and I don’t know if it’s worth waiting another few months for that lol

I only know a few people who appealed their final ratings and it added months onto their process. Around 6-8 I believe but obviously every one is different. I’d talk to legal and see what they say about it if you haven’t already and that could provide you the best clarification on steps forward!

Agree with this^ especially if you’re really wanting tricare. Though with you having champ VA, not much real advantage unless you just want that retirement designation

You may want to appeal. 6 to 8 months may be worth it. What does your legal say?

I think your process has moved along fairly quickly, but sometimes its how long it feels, as opposed to the actual days. My timeline is below.

21 AUG - Enrolled in IDES
28 AUG - First Contact/Appointment with PEBLO and first contact/appointment with VA MSC
4 SEP - 1st C&P exam
18 SEP - First conversation with OSC attorney
24 SEP - Last C&P exam
(Govt shutdown)
16DEC – Dismissed my OSC Attorney
18 DEC – Met with new OSC Attorney
30 DEC – Received call from VA about the new prescription case
15JAN – Received NARSUM (unfit for duty, but was missing findings/information from the VA exams)
19JAN – Requested an IMR

Depending on how many years you have in the military and how old you are, it may be worth it to appeal, endure the wait as best as you can until it is complete, because receiving a pension (30% or more) will last your entire life. At least, that is what I keep telling myself, but not hearing a single update from the end of September 2025 until January 2026 was difficult for me, both mentally and emotionally.

Just curious but was your VA rating really bad or something? Yes if you’re 30% or more DoD you technically are retired and *could* get a pension, however, the VA pension is typically way more and completely cancels out the DoD side anyway, and you get the VA one no matter what DoD % you have (severance or retired). You might know this info but if not just wanna make sure you aren’t waiting for no reason or misunderstanding.
