This thread is for information about certain features that might be attractive to veterans who are considering relocating to another state.

Example:

Texas has many benefits for veterans. See this LINK to Benefits in Texas for Veterans <----

Please keep posts to ten lines or less. Providing a link to where the benefits are outlined saves space.

Additionally, discussion about politics and/or religion should be avoided.

Those veterans potentially wishing to reside Alabama, and in particular the Gulf Coast part of Alabama, might want to be aware of a few things brought to the attention of several vets regarding the sale of alcohol and cigarettes..... as unfortunately there are many vets whom not able kick habit since service in combat, or in PRRTP due to no fault of their own drug/alcohol addiction - for prescribed pain killers etc.....by US Dept. Vet Affairs....

Those interested see below links:

With so many varying state laws on alcohol, etc... wonder if US ATF (Bureau Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) really up- to speed on all of them....as apparently some local stores in Lower Alabama claiming cannot return bad cigarettes, etc.. and breaking up cartons for sale etc......

Anyway- thought some vets might find of interest -use.......??????

All- thought might be interested- those vets into firearms, etc.. either hunting, collecting, target/competitive shooting, etcc.. regarding firearms laws in Alabama:

Word has it a vet in Alabama tried to turn-in some weapons voluntarily to local city police and they simply would not take them at all- additionally supposedly one of chief investigators allegedly told vet have issues with all video feeds and that often when go look footage either deleted or altered on all City Cameras, etc......if true, pretty odd....

Those interested might want see below, as could find no evidence of Alabama voluntary-weapons turn-in programs/buy-back programs on internet but did find following:

Following quoted/cited above wb-linK: "Simpson said more than 1,200 guns were stolen from vehicles in Mobile in 2018 and that other Alabama cities are fighting the same problem with thieves ransacking unlocked vehicles."
