C&P and DBQ Question

Hello,

I already had all my C&Ps completed but was scheduled for two more. These have overlapping DBQs.

Can a C&P exam for a specific condition, say "left shoulder", and its accompanying DBQ be used to rate against the right shoulder, or the arms, or is the specific claimed condition for the exam the only ratable item within the DBQ?

Thanks for any answers.

Most exams will have a general format, wouldn't really make sense to have a DBQ solely for your left shoulder and one solely for your right when the issue could present as bilateral. Just means oftentimes a broad DBQ can be used to encompass one issue, with the other part simply being marked as normal.

Now if for whatever reason one provider looks at your left shoulder and another looks at your right while neglecting the other shoulder and marking it as normal a rater will filter out the fluff and understand what happened. If on one paper A = B, and on the other A = C, they'll be able to decipher that A = B and C. The rating team is surprisingly in depth and I've always been pleasantly surprised by them from communications to how they rated conditions.

I hope I answered your question. If I misunderstood please let me know.
