1. Average High 3 = $9816
2. Yes
3. 20 year and 7 months AD
4 a. 100% VA
b. $3713.00
c. wife two kids under 18
DOD disablilty Rating= 60
5. Projected 40% CRSC
6. No other retirement
7. No REDUX / CSB Pay
8. No Blended Retirement
Hello @CharlieV

CRSC Comments.
a. The high three is the total of the highest 36 months of base pay divided by 36. The high three you show, 9816, appears to be the current rate of pay for an O-5 over 20 years.
b. Using the info you provided, 9816 x 60% = 5889.60 disability retired pay
c. 5889.60 minus 3713 VA amount = 2176.60 residual retired pay
d. 20.58 AD years x 2.5% = 51.45% longevity multiplier
e. 9816 x 51.45% = 5050.33 longevity portion of retired pay
f. CRSC @ 40% spouse, 2 children = 756.77 + 34 = 790.77
g. 2176.60 residual + retired pay 790.77 = 2967.37 amount paid by DFAS
residual retired pay: 2176.60
CRSC: 790.77

f. The combination of CRDP and residual retired pay cannot exceed the longevity portion of retired pay for CH 61 retirees.
g. 5050.33 longevity amount (maximum amount from DFAS) minus 2176.60 residual retired pay =
2873.73 CRDP
f. DFAS would pay: 5050.33 total (combination residual and CRDP).

Summary.

With CRSC: You receive 2967.37 from DFAS plus your VA compensation
With CRDP: You receive 5050.33 from DFAS plus your VA compensation

Notes.

The information provided above is based on the assumption that with 20yrs equivalent active Federal service. (National Guard 32 years with over 7200 creditable retirement points) and a VA rating of 50% or more that you are eligible for reserve retirement pay immediately upon retirement. CRDP would be predicated on that issue.

Edited to add:
What is the amount of CRDP on page 2 of your DFAS RAS? Also, what is the gross retired pay on page one of the RAS?

Questions. Reservist here going to be medically retired.

1) Is my high-36 based off the the base pay I actually received or the base pay in the charts? Each month the base pay I actually receive is on average about $800, but the pay chart for an E-7 with over 12 years of service is $4561. So over the last 36 months my actual received base pay has averaged about $800 a month, while my average chart pay is about $4400. Will my high-36 base pay be $800 or $4400?

2) My points total about 7 years of active service (~2500 points) but I've been in for close to 13/will have 13 good years. Will my base pay be determined as an E-7 with over 6 years of active service or as over 12 years of active service?

Hello @questionstoask

The high three average base pay: It is the total of the highest 36 months of gross pay you received, divided by 36.

It is NOT the net pay. Example: The $800 you mentioned is the net for a certain month. That figure would not be used. The $4400 you mentioned would be much closer.

Your retirement pay will use the higher multiplier of:
—the DoD disability percentage approved
Or
—the longevity multiplier which is 2.5% (2% for blended retirement) x active duty equivalent years = longevity multiplier
The higher of the two x high three average base pay = disability retired pay

The retired pay is reduced by the amount of VA compensation.

Note: a minimum of 50% is used for TDRL.
