Thanks, Ron. Also, I receive all of my retirement pay and none of it is offset from my VA disability compensation. I'm new to all of this and only found out about CRSC a few months ago when I applied; very surprised it was approved so quickly. I appreciate any/all info you have provided and also all the hard work I can see you put into this forum!

I don't know if part of that was clear, but the 4637 is the GROSS from my RAS. If you need any other info, I can get it. I really appreciate any help. Also, the letter I got said I will receive back pay to 1 Aug 2017. Just trying to figure out an est of what that will look like. THANKS!
I really wish there was a [DELETE] button for posts....And I will stop using acronyms....

-- $4637 is the GROSS pay each month for the last 3 years I was active duty..
-- $2827 is the GROSS pay from my Retiree account statement on 1 Aug 19

I am so sorry for all the posts with the misinformation.

Thank you.

You currently receive all your retired pay because of CRDP.

You should compare your CRDP amount (all retired pay) to CRSC amount which is the result of the reduction of retired pay in the amount of VA compensation and restored at the lesser of
--dollar amount of longevity portion of retired pay
or
--Amount associated with approved CRSC percentage
Note: Residual retired pay reduces CRSC

Hello,

This info changes everything;

"-- $4637 is the GROSS pay each month for the last 3 years I was active duty..
-- $2827 is the GROSS pay from my Retiree account statement on 1 Aug 19 "

I suspect your will be better off with choosing CRDP.

Thank you. I never noticed that statement before. Absolutely states....CRDP amount is $2827.
Here is a much simpler method to explain your Concurrent Receipt choices.

1. Election of CRDP, which you now receive: $2827

2. Election of CRSC @ 80% 3 children under 18 (no spouse) =($1,722.69) + (67 x 2) total 1856.69
Note: With CRSC your retired pay is reduced by the amount of VA compensation you receive. In your case that results in zero retired pay remaining.

3. You would lose 970.31 each month by accepting CRSC

CRDP is a much better choice in my opinion.

Background.

--Gross retired pay (CRDP) is $2827
--I was not medically retired
-- I have 24 years and 23 days of active duty
--I receive 100% VA which is $3449.07 and includes SMC-K which is $108.57
--Approved 80% CRSC-- 3 kids that are under 18 years.
--I don’t qualify for any other retirement.

"-- $4637 is the GROSS pay each month for the last 3 years I was active duty..
-- $2827 is the GROSS pay from my Retiree account statement on 1 Aug 19 "
