1. RAS States 1114 Gross
2. 7 Years 11 Months
3. DoD PDRL 40%
4. VA 100% : 3437.10 Spouse + 2 Kids under 18.
5. Approved 50% CRSC

If i understand this correctly if 1114 is 40% of my pay that would make my High 3 2785. with my TIS if rounded 7 years 11 months = 20%. Which would equal 557 Monthly for retirement pay. The va rate for 50% CRSC would be well over 900 but i'm restricted to no more than 557 due to my multiplier. So would this make my CRSC payment 557 monthly?

1. 7.916 yrs x 0.025 = 19.79 longevity multiplier
2. 1114/0.40 = 2785 high three
3. 2785 x 0.1979 = 551.15 longevity portion of retirement

4. Based on your info = 551.15 CRSC

Well i was only off $6 due to rounding to 20% so not bad i'd say.

@RonG with an approval letter dated June 14th when do you put a guess I'll start receiving payment?

Pure guess: For the period 1-31 July 2019 = payment on 1 August 2019.

Please update the status when you receive the payment.

Added: It is seems odd (to me) when an agency representative says “we have xxx days to complete XYZ.” Those periods are not set by law; they are internal deadlines or an amount of time deemed reasonable to them (i.e. not the veteran). I do think DFAS and the VA do a good job.

Good luck,

Ron

Will do! My effective date is may 1st with an approval dated June 14.

Then there will be retro CRSC at some point it seems.

Yeah from what I've gathered here it sounds like it's just going to take a bit of time before I get the retro.

A moving target so to speak. It could be worse. I once waited 30 months for DFAS to pay retro CRSC.

Also had one and two year waits for VA retro compensation. Things have changed for the better.

Statement posted today being paid August 1st 551 as you calculated.

Thank you for the update.

We both hit the target. Good job on your part.

Also for tracking purposes, CRSC increase letter received end of June, no change in DFAS as of today's statement.

My guess is September 1st for you mine was early June and I feel like I barely made the cutoff for the month.

I think that was the case. Earlier, you said, "...with an approval dated June 14..."

Per anecdotal evidence, the necessary internal cutoffs for a DFAS processing month are similar to the time needed when pay input was accomplished by local service finance offices and electronically transmitted to the finance center of the applicable service.

Example (historical): The last update for a certain processing month would be the 21st of the month. That required the finance offices to schedule their final transmittal for a month on or before that date. Within the servicing finance, the internal cutoff would be around the 15th to allow for local processing between the 15th and 21st. In other words, if a document was received on the 16th, its processing would be for the following month and would not be included in the pay for the current month.

Hello,

I infer the 3650 is your current retired pay. If not...high three is needed

A. 3650/0.75 = 4866.67 (which seems high for seven years)
Note: Retiree Account Statement is the RAS.

Please confirm your high three is ~4866.67

Also, are 7 years 21 days active duty time or equivalent? That is what is necessary for the CRSC computation.

Ron

Hello,

What is your DoD disability percentage approved by your service?
Is the served time all active duty? AD or equivalent is necessary.
