a. 8.67 years x 0.025 = 21.68 % multiplier
b. 2095 gross / 0.75 max DoD = 2793.33 high three
c. 2793.33 x 0.2168 = 605.59 dollar amount of longevity portion of retired pay
d. CRSC @ 100% would be 2095 (but cannot exceed the longevity portion of retired pay)
e. Your CRSC based on info provided is $605.59

Ron

Added:
The CRSC payable to a CH 61 retiree with less than 20 years is the LESSER of
—dollar amount of the longevity portion of retirement pay
OR
—dollar amount of the CRSC percentage approved by service—rates and amounts are found in the VA compensation tables.
Note: CRSC cannot exceed the dollar amount of the longevity portion or the retired pay. It can be lower, as explained in this paragraph.

In my opinion, the DFAS received the notice in time to effect a payment for 1-31 December on the 31st based on “received my award letter December 6.”

During my time in Army Finance, the true cutoff was 11 days before the end of month. Of course that meant it had to be processed and electronically submitted to the finance center in Indianapolis (pre-DFAS) before that date.

Hi, I just got the CRSC statement 01/23 and the payment is less than expected, why is this happening?

my first payment will be feb. 1, but I am surprised that the payment it's not what we discussed here

The estimate provided was based on the following info provided by you:
  1. RAS gross $2,095 / VA Waiver $3,886.56
  2. AD Service: 8 years 8 months
  3. VA rating is 100%
  4. Approved for CRSC 100%
  5. DOD 100%

If you feel the DFAS payment is in error, you can request a DFAS audit and explanation from them. Also, if you elected
you elected the SBP, that might have caused a reduction.

Hi, I didn't elect the SBP... It should be a difference in the pay?
How they fixed?

Additional remarks:

--I checked my figures; I stand by them.

--If even one item you provided is inaccurate, that will cause an inaccurate computation

--Most often, the inaccuracy is the number of years and months of active duty. You said, "8 years 8 months." If that is not precise, it is likely the problem.

--Another problem area is the high three average base pay or gross retired pay on DFAS RAS. The gross retired pay is on page one of the DFAS RAS, upper left corner.

--If you have any debts being collected, that would reduce the net payment.

--You said you did not elect SBP ("...I didn't elect the SBP... It should be a difference in the pay?
How they fixed?" Answer: Check your CRSC statement; does it have a SBP deduction?
Enrollment in an annuity plan is not automatic and there are costs. If you are enrolled you will pay premiums for your SBP coverage. In addition you can only leave an annuity to eligible beneficiaries.
Election to participate in these programs is generally made at the time of retirement, although some situations allow a retiree to add coverage after retirement. In most cases, costs to participate are deducted from the retiree's monthly pay and are based on the amount of coverage a retiree elects..

--Earlier, I offered, "If you feel the DFAS payment is in error, you can request a DFAS audit and explanation from them. Also, if you elected
you elected the SBP, that might have caused a reduction."

--How to fix problem? Answer: Contact a VSO for hands-on help and/or request the audit I have mentioned twice.

--You can call DFAS at
