I was wondering if you can help me calculate the CRSC

Chapter 61, Medically Retired
50%PEB Combat Related
80% VA w/spouse

Method A (% of Disability)
Active Duty Base Pay at retirement: 6,311.63
Percentage of Disability= 50%
Disability Pay= 3,155.00

Method B ( Years of Service)
1,459.00

-Active Time: 09 Years, 03 Months, 22 Days
-This was used for Method B

-14.5 total years of Service (Including Reserve Time)
-Method A, This helped for my final pay of 6,311

They gave me Method A

MY Retirement account statement looks like this-
Gross Pay = 3,243
VA Waiver = 1,767.69
SBP = 210.82

Allotment 50.3: Dental/Vision
I get two checks each month
DFAS Net Pay = 1,214.18
VA Pay = 1,76.69

How much will I get each month for CRSC? All of my 50% PEB is combat.
VA gave me 80%, but for a few other things in addition to my 50% PEB.

Estimate
.

1. Gross pay 3243 minus 1767.69 VA = 1475.31 residual retired pay (1475.71 minus 210.82 & 50.30 allotment = 1214.19)
2. 9.25 (9 yrs 3 mo) x 0.025 = 23.13% longevity multiplier
3. 3243 is 50% of an unknown number. 3243/0.50 = 6486 high three
4. 6486 x 0.2313 = 1500.21 longevity portion of retired pay
5. 1500.21 - 1475.31 residual retired pay = 24.90 CRSC
6. You should receive from DFAS:
--1475.31 residual retired pay (gross)
--24.90 CRSC
--TOTAL: 1500.21 from DFAS which is equal to the longevity portion of retired pay (which is the maximum) based on the info you provided.
7. You will also receive your VA compensation.

Thanks Ron. If I get my VA up to 90% or 100%, would my CRSC go up?

Unfortunately no. You would still have the limit/ceiling of : 6486 x 0.2313 = 1500.21 longevity portion of retired pay

Hi Ron. Quick Update. I just got a letter from Army HRC saying that my Combat Disability is going to be 80%. Does this change my calculation?

Congratulations.

However, unfortunately no. You would still have the limit/ceiling of : 6486 x 0.2313 = 1500.21 longevity portion of retired pay based on the information you provided earlier.

The approved rate is more than the 1500.21 ceiling.
