The PEB sent my packet to the VA on Apr 11. On eBenefits, it says May 9 “We closed the notice for request 2.” I’m currently at JBLM, so my packet is at the VA in Seattle.

Does anyone know what that mean?

Nothing really, the only part to look at if anything is va.gov and for the case to be closed. Other than that ebenefits don’t really help you if you are going through the med board since you can’t get official ratings until you separate from service so it won’t show there.

Sorry I meant I used va.gov, not eBenefits. I’m waiting on the VA to send the ratings back to the VA.

Just wanted to update others. I contacted the VA and they told me on May 9th, they sent a request for clarification to QTC on my IDEA Condition. The VA person told me if I can get QTC to respond in a timely fashion, I could have my ratings back anytime in May-June.

I contact QTC pretty much begging them to respond, and the QTC specialist told me they responded the same day the VA sent the question. They told the VA, the answer to their question is in the documents that QTC sent initially in March. The VA just didn’t actually look in depth.

So I contacted the VA again, and a different person told me “oh they sent it back the same day? well the person checking your case must haven’t checked it again. maybe in june he’ll reassess your case”....

So this goes to show that the guys at Seattle VA checks your case once a month for updates. If nothing is updated, you have to wait another month before they check it again...

Im on the same time table. Packet sent to Seattle on 09 April. They closed a request on 22 April. My MSC wasn't of much help. I was trying to see if it's close to a decision because I have a job waiting on the civilian side and my husband will be pcsing mid July

Right. I’m wanting to purchase a home in a different state, I have a job waiting as well, and I got accepted in a college near where I’m purchasing my home. I went to the Seattle VA in person today. From my conversation with her and her supervisor, no one really knows what is going on. They just keep saying “you’ll have to wait another month for them to check for a response from your QTC doctor”....

We just closed on our home last week. We have to start packing in June. (And my unit is driving me crazy lol). I'm just really ready to leave JBLM. Supposedly per my MSC, they're sending some cases to providence but she couldn't tell me more than that. So now I'm anxiously waiting.....

So seeing a request being closed isn't a good thing?

A request being closed. Maybe it means that their requesting more information from QTC? At least that’s basically what the clerk at the VA in Seattle said. My MSC hasn’t even returned my calls or emails lol. I’ve only spoken to him once.

Seeing a request closed is actually a GREAT THING. It simply means that the VA has gathered all the clarifications and/or answers they are looking for (with regards to your claims) from either the QTC or your C&P examiner. Your claim will now move to Preparation for Decision. You might get your rating any moment from now coz the VA is no longer backlogged (according to an insider source). This past week, many ratings were returned.

Thank you!!! My nerves have been off the chart because I'm on a strict time table to leave. I'd be beyond ecstatic if I get my ratings back in June.

Hopefully that’s right. They told me their requesting more information when it says “request closed”, but also they told me I could have my ratings back any moment from the end of May to June.

I’ll check mine once I’m home since our packet went up to the VA at the same time. I hope yours is done, so you can continue your next career!

Yeah . They keep telling you not to trust eBenefits, but their telling me the same information that’s on there.
So true when you call they just tell you the same info on ebenifits and it doesn't seem many of them are knowledgeable of the IDES process. However just to give you hope Ill seen people on this forum in prep for decision or pending decision approval get there findings ebenifits just isnt as accurate as we would want it to be. Hopefully you guys get movement soon. Good Luck

Yeah I noticed their not very knowledgeable on the IDES process. I spoke to some “20 year veteran” over the phones there and they think their experts on the IDES process. All of them say “you won’t get your ratings till your out the of military. listen to me, i’ve served 26 years”.... Lol...

But yeah. I appreciate the response!

Update:

A notice to close request 3 was posted on my account on May 23, 2019.
