Errors on Narsum

I am requesting an IMR and I found that there were a few typos on my NARSUM and also a few things I would like added to my MEB. Even with the typos is that enough for them to side with me in this case. (My name was spelled wrong a few times, and a few things have changed since I was referred)

“Impartial Medical Review”

I wouldn't sweat the name spelling errors. Will have zero bearing on the IPEB. I doubt anyone would even notice to be honest. As for the few things that have changed, the IMR could potentially add them, but it will mostly be additional evidence that gets added to the cluster of paperwork sent to the IPEB. CIS, NARSUM, MEB results, all pertinent medical evidence, HHQ review. The NARSUM is an important document, but it is static in nature. It's not really supposed to change unless your referred condition drastically changes your ability to perform your duties. If your referred condition(s) are changing drastically back and forth, they could hold off all together and wait for it to stabilize. Haven't seen them use that option before, but it still an option for them.

A NARSUM is not 100% of your medical record. NARSUM is and abbreviation for narrative summary, thus only summarizes your overall health. Typos are small stuff.

This is the reason I asked this question, all of the conditions were listed as fit by my PEBLO and was going to be sent to the PEB. it was signed off by the doctor which I did not agree with. I was under the impression this portion would be decided by the IPEB, not on my narsum.

Weird. if your primary doctor says you area fit for duty, how did you even make it out of the Pre-IDES phase. Did your commander say you were unfit?

Yes that’s the weird part. I feel like something mischievous was going on when my PEBLO said she typed it up and the doctor just signed it off agreeing with it. I asked about my referred condition being listed on their and once I brought it up I was told it would be taken off and that I would still be boarded for it. Which is why I requssted an IMR. Also legal hasn’t contacted me since I reached out a few weeks ago. Gonna try to call them this week.

Already working on that. Just hoping the doctor feels comfortable adding the conditions I requested to my MEB. I think my rebuttal was pretty convincing. Also I wasn’t expecting all the conditions to be unfitting but the fact that my Peblo thought none of the conditions were unfitting was obsurd because I’ve missed over a month of work due to my medical issues.

Your PEBLO is supposed to be a liaison. They process and send emails. At no point should they have input on a NARSUM or other medical documents.
