My initial packet went up to AFPC and we just got the results. It stated return to duty but I can only be deployed to the states. We are shocked because my commander, doctor, and psychologist all stated that I should NOT be returned to Active Duty. I had back surgery 3 years ago but the severe back pain came back less than a year later. My back is now worse, cannot be fixed with surgery and all doctors have stated it will not get better. I am missing work because of the pain, I have pain shooting down both legs, tarsal tunnel symptoms in my right ankle, my knee cannot straighten, my knee and ankle give out, I cannot bend backward at all, I cannot lift more than 20lbs without pain, I cannot run, do push-ups or sits up. I started the MEB process a year ago and they finally sent in my paperwork last week. I also have anxiety which I take meds for because of a work situation years ago. The MEB was initially started just for my back but at the last minute, they added the anxiety. I have 14 years in and over the last year of this process have been told there was very little chance of staying in. I had accepted that the outcome would be to be medically retired and now I am shocked and a little upset. Can I fight the findings or do I just keep going like normal and stay on my profile of not being able to do any physical fitness?
