Fort Bragg Timeline

Submitted 13 feb still waiting on call from peblo. I am being told by my PA and a IDES worker there was some kind of problem with the submission and ides never received anything intially, so they had to resubmit. Great :( . Anyone have any way to track or check the IDES process, I have done a bunch of work to set up a skill bridge with a great company in my prior career field for after my VA exams are complete, but will likely have to push it back weeks/ months now, hopefully the company still wishes to take me on.

on the good side I heard the process is speeding up and va determinations are going quicker

Unfortunately there's no way to track it. You're in the worst part of it right now. It takes 5 to 8 weeks to even start the process after you get your recommendation. Once you get scheduled for your initial briefing, it starts to rolling after that and gets somewhat to predictable. Good luck and try not to get frustrated, you're going to, just do your best to manage your expectations.

Just a PSA i heard from my PEBLO that the PEB phase is moving faster than they’ve usually seen—could be as quick as 2-3 weeks. So once that NARSUM is back and signed, things should move quickly (or so they say…).

Now I’m being told my ides workers my initial referral in February was never received. I’m not sure if this means that it’s gona take another 5-6 weeks to even get started but I’m very upset. I’m not sure if ice complaint would do anything in this situation but I’m about to make one I’m getting 0 answers from anyone working at Ides and when I called they sounded annoyed. I’m on basically chemotherapy drugs and exhausted and sick every day of the week and waking up at 430 every day to get to a first formation to be useless for my job is not helping. Stress reduction and sleep is what I need ugh.

Finally received my final DBQ in TOL on 15APR2024 from an exam almost eight weeks ago. Now that the DBQ's are back, how do I know when the exams will be released to my PEBLO, and then to the NARSUM physician? Assuming that's the next step here. If so, how long has that taken you guys/gals? Thanks!

Need some advice.. I’ve had an injury that I’ve been dealing with for a couple years. My PCM suggested a MEB but, is waiting to refer to allow me to get to 20 years TIS. I hit 19 years in September. I will have 90 days of leave by the time I hit 20 years.

Ideally, I’d like to go on transitional leave sometime during next summer to allow us to move between school years. When would a good timeframe be for my PCM to initiate the MEB? I understand it’s difficult to know for sure how these things go, just trying have a general idea.

Is there anything keeping you past 20 years such as a ADSO due to going to school? Is the condition he is thinking of referring you for combat related? If you can hit 20 year regular retirement you typically max out compensation because you get all of your earned longevity pension and all of your VA compensation as long as your total VA compensation is 50% or higher.

No ADSO keeping me passed 20. And yes, my condition is combat related. My top priority is making it to 20 years. A medical retirement after 20 will have more financial benefits for me than a regular retirement.

I will be retiring from Liberty. I’m just trying to figure out the best timeframe for the process to be initiated so, I can make it to 20. Ideally, I want to time it out so, I am going on terminal leave sometime between June-August of 2025. My leave would carry me passed 20. I do understand that it’s difficult to time out an MEB.

From reading posts about the current timeline of MEBs on Liberty, I think January or February would be my best bet but, I wanted to hear other opinions.

Why do you think a medical retirement after 20 years will benefit you more? For most they are maxed out on compensation with a 20 year retirement and a medical retirement won't net them any more compensation.

10 weeks from initial ides referral and I still haven’t been called by my peblo. Anyone know if there is any way to speed things up, my PA said there is nothing he can do.

You got hosed my man, when they realized they didn't send your stuff and did, your time essentially reset. There's nothing they are going to do unfortunately..

That’s what I figured. Sucks I had all my Skillbridge stuff done and ready to go, guess I’m gona have to push everything back.

Just submitted my appeal for the v3 code. Hearing all kinds of different timelines for this appeal. A soldier in my unit submitted one a few weeks back and it took 13 days. The attorneys are saying it can take up to 8 weeks. I’m hoping I fall under the same timeframe as my fellow soldier.

Ratings are 20% DOD 100% VA process started around October/November and has gone fairly smooth.

Speak with your command, if you articulate your situation and they don't suck, you can still participate in the program

How long did you wait to hear from the PEB after your narsum documentation was sent? What documentation did you prepare for your appeal?

Just shy of 4 weeks from my narsum being submitted to getting it back. I had several sworn statements and a sworn statement from the company senior medic with times and dates of the training event that my injuries happened. He treated me while we were still out training with injections to get me by and then I went straight to H2F after the exercise and that’s what started my long road with surgery and PT. and now I’m almost done with this whole process. The initial injury happened mid 2022

My command is supportive the only problem will be that my Skillbridge is 6 hours away and I’ll have to be local till I complete my c&p exams. I saw on here some people mentioned doing c&p’s away from the base but I’m not sure how or if that would be approved.

Appreciate the reply. Was you buddy successful in getting what he wanted added?

08 APR 24 - NARSUM Received

10 APR 24 - Legal review

Did not concur with board's decision and did not request an IMR based on attorney's guidance. She said it was a waste of time and to fight the fight at the PEB stage to get the unfit DOD conditions added at the PEB stage. Good news is that she is positive I am 100% PDRL VA, which is awesome!
You and I are in a very similar boat. Signed “Do Not Concur, Do Not Want an IMR” to fight that battle at the PEB stage. Legal is fairly confident though I’ll be at 100% P/T VA though, so I am happy about that. Fingers crossed! They quoted me about 40-60 days for the PEB stage. I have a CPT in my BN that said it only took him about 4-5 weeks. Hopefully that rings true for me, too. Crazy to think I could be on terminal leave right around July!

I was told when I started my process of meb that’s they’re EXTREMELY backed up and short staffed so it could take longer than expected. But I was on Google and if you got to the 7th floor at the soldier support center I think it’s a room or office up there. If you do let me know how that goes please
