How to Backdate VA Disability Rating

I currently have a VA Disability rating for Service Connected injuries/ degenerations that occurred to my body. I was punitively discharged in 2007 and for that reason I didn't file with VA until early 2020. In late 2019 the BCNR determined under Secretarial Authority that I should instead receive an Honorable Discharge and they updated my records, keeping the 2007 discharge date.

What document do I file with VA that says I filed at the earliest opportunity because I wasn't qualified in 2007 that could allow them to backdate my Disability Eligibility date to 2007?

Sitting in TAP class right now actually. Unfortunately, you have 1 year to file VA disability after discharge to get back paid.

I understand that, but these are extraordinary circumstances. Can you ask the lecturer?

Just saw this. Class has ended. However, talk to one of this individuals below. They’re part of the VA benefits advisors group at Fort Sill.
