Hello everyone, I've seen some threads that started with day one and updated the process as it went along, and I'm going to do the same here. Considering the significant shakeups going on in the federal government, I wanted to start a fresh thread to showcase the process under the current administration. Hope by the end this thread becomes a useful resource for those in the future!

17 January 2025 - P3 profile put in place, initiated in JBLM, WA
17 January 2025 - Provider submitted referral to IDES to begin medboard process.

Currently 11 February 2025 and I haven't heard anything. I was told I would hear from my PEBLO "within 2 weeks". When I followed up with my aid station they said to give it at least 30 days. Will post again once I've made contact with my PEBLO

Check med pros to see if your P3 was signed off by the final authority. There will be your providers signature then another higher ranking signature.

I don’t think you will be forwarded to IDES/assigned a PEBLO until you have that second signature.

Thanks for that advice, just checked and it is showing now signature for the approving authority. I'll follow up with my aid station.

20 February 2025 - Second Signature
21 February 2025 - Received emails from my PEBLO and IDES Contact Coordinator. Filled out several documents and sent back.
25 February 2025 - Initial IDES brief (about 3 hours covering all aspects of the process).
27 February 2025 - Waiting to hear from VMSC to talk claims and schedule appointments.

At 33 days post P3 submission I still hadn't received a second signature. I brought it up to my battalion surgeon, they sent an email, and I had the second signature by the end of that day. Sometimes you just need someone with some rank to flex their muscle I guess.

I replied to my PEBLO, but received no responses and tried to call with no success. After the IDES brief I just went to her office directly and she said "Oh, yeah sorry I totally forgot about you let's do your initial intake because it's due today." She also told me she is retiring in a few months and didn't seem at all interested in helping me in my case. I requested a change of PEBLOs so we'll see how that goes.

Additionally, I talked with some staff at the IDES office and the DOGE shake-up is really hitting them hard. They are losing staff, no one knows if their job is safe, and 2 doctors who complete NARSUMs were let go, so expect delays in the process if you are entering it post Trump/Elon era.

Looks like you are slightly behind me at this point. I'm also curious how things are going to go for the next few months, especially with the news of the VA losing ~83k employees...

What exam provider did you get assigned?

Have you gotten your appointments yet?
I’m still waiting on 1 to be scheduled…

Damn dude, QTC is on fire!

I’m hearing that I should plan on waiting 30 days or so until VES uploads anything.

You’ll be out of here before July at this rate.

Damn brother, sorry to hear VES is lacking. Crazy how not uniform this process is, I thought for sure you'd be further along than me given how much sooner your P3 was signed.

I have found it depends on the provider with them. My physical and audiology exams were loaded fast. It was the behavioral health one that somehow took two months to be submitted. You wanna talk rough on their end. I am waiting on my ratings and my rater requested an appointment or clarification from VES on one of my DBQs and when I called VES today they had no clue what was going on.

Were you able to do anything to get VES to finally submit your DBQs?
I call and get nothing but generic responses and being in quality review.

Had the same issues and all they ever told me is that it was in QA for review. In the end just waited and they eventually were completed. Makes me wish we had QTC lol even though I’m sure they have had their share of problems too.
