It's only been two weeks and I'm already anxious! My biggest fear is being RTD... Hopefully we'll be lucky like some have been recently and get something back inside of three months. Not holding my breath though.

emuaspe,

I think it is wise not to hold your breath, but just perform "business as usual" as much as you can - the time will pass faster that way. Have you cross-referenced your ROM measurements against the thresholds in the VASRD?

Here is where I have started so far

13 July 2010 - MEB Initiated

My Package wont be sent up to IPEB until mid Sept.
I have to appointments left with ortho and asthma doc that way they can have their last input and list me unfit.
More to come.

As I recall it was only 10% for the ROM, which I'm not sure they did right...

HELP!!! Can anyone give me any answers to my questions below?

UPDATE:
2 Aug 10- Had an appoinment with pulmonary doc --she sated that I have asthma and coding me permanently nondeployable. along with this since she increased my med doses. (advir x2 daily--250mg and singulair daily)
I am medication dependent
Her findings will be forward to my docs for review to be placed in my MEB paper work.

???QUESTION???
since i can never depoly and depend on medication will they keep me in the Air Force?
I still have a pending knee problem...that they couldnt fix with 2 surgerys and 18 weeks of physical therapy.---this also will be inculde in my MEB paper work.
Last, if discharge is likely what I am to expect? Severance or retirement?
info---11 yrs in the Air Force

thanks all!

From what I've seen, and I'm no expert, it's really hard to estimate what your outcome will be. The best thing you can probably do is look at the VA Schedule for Rating Disabilities. I don't have the link, but I think Jason or some of the other mods have it in their signature.

It's also hard to tell whether or not the AF will keep you if you can't deploy. I know they have permanent codes in place that they can give you so you don't have to deploy, but I think it all comes down to your condition and how it affects your every day job. Sorry I couldn't be more help, hopefully someone will chime in who can help! Good luck:)

HELP!!! Can anyone give me any answers to my questions below?

Well, next week I am going on leave for a couple of weeks and when I get back my PEB will have been at AFPC for two months. I know that the current timeline is about 3-4 months but I am so ready to find out something. I got a call from the clinic Friday saying that they had reviewed my records and due to the fact that I have been on Lortab for over 6 months they would have to start an MEB. Of corse I told them that my MEB was already done, this is the second time they have done this. But, my question is that the nurse told me this was a new policy, and I'm wondering if now this gives me even greater hope that I will not see return to duty?? That is my biggest fear!!! Another question for the experts, I had an emergency appendectomy three weeks ago, will this affect my PEB? I contacted the PEBLO but haven't heard back from her yet. Thanks guys and good luck to everyone, I hope that we start to hear some results by September some time!

I just got a call from my PEBLO and my IPEB is already back! She said they are going fast right now. I am getting a severance with a 10% rating. I'm not mad about it! She said my stuff was sent to AFPC on June 28 which is news to me. I have my appointment with the peblo at three.

13 July 10- MEB started
2 Aug 10-Pulmonary doc stated not world wide qualified.
17 Aug 10- Interview with CC...she agreed to write the letter that I am unfit...that is what I asked for.
23 Aug 10- CC letter due to PEBLO

QUESTION
How much weight does the CC letter hold when sent to IPEB?
Should I expect to be getting out now for sure? MY CC told me that she would write my letter so that I am unfit for standards.
I know I asked this once with one answer, what are people getting with asthma--medication dependent--and a messed up knee--x2 surgeries and 18 wks of Physical T.
My PEBLO told me that I should expect to get TDRL or severance....does that sound right?
She (PEBLO) was leaning toward TDRL.

From what my Peblo told me that if your letter says to get out and the cc letter says to get out. most likley you'll be getting out. I think we both have nothing to worry about. I know it sucks right now it seems like im walking on thin ice till this is done.

Cool, thanks, Do you know what I should be getting or know what other have been getting?

I think were both looking at below 30% and sev. i dont know about you but ill take it and run. And never look back. these have the longest 8 years of my life. im really happy to see july is coming back fast.

YEAH! COngrats!!! So glad you got what you wanted, it's great to see the system work out for people:)
Mine was sent out 2 weeks after yours so hopefully mine is right behind ya!:)

So when I actually signed the papers today I got 20% not 10 like I origanally thought. I know that doesn't make a difference as far as my severance goes. My peblo said that they would base my orders off of 20 days permissive tdy, 20 days to outprocess plus how much leave you have for terminal. I'm not sure how much truth there is to this but it looks like I'll be out in October sometime. I'm very nervous but excited! Good luck to everyone and I bet you will be seeing yours come back soon too.

Degenerative Disc Disease with incapacitating episodes 2-4 weeks/year 20%

I believe this to be the correct timeline

Julne 30 - MEB
July 7 - IPEB sent
Aug 4 - IPEB made determination
Aug17 - Results recieved from PEBLO
