In classic fashion of my 8 years in the Navy I am once again missing me and my wife's anniversary. Though this time it is not deployment related this time it is due to someone elses lack of care about others. The guy that was supposed to be petty officer of the watch today decided he wanted to extend his 4th of July leave through to the end of the week. Yet he was supposed to be on duty today as the Petty Officer of the Watch for the quarterdeck. I was supposed to be the supervisor for today which only requires a morning muster and colors in the morning. POOW requires me to stay here all day until evening colors. I could leave at 1700 but I live about an hour from the base in normal traffic and that would simply mean I would turn around 20 minutes after getting home to come back. So I am stuck here until evening colors at 2005. So one more anniversary missed. Luckily this will be the last one. Just adding that to things that annoy me in the military that I wont miss such as mandatory fun days, death by power point safety stand downs, company PT, working every damn Sunday, and now duty haha.

I always wondered how they could order me to have fun when I didn't agree with what they felt should have been fun. Well, at least you are trying to stay positive. Me personally, I miss the AF but then again they tell me I'm sick.
Good luck in the MEB and afterwards.

Exactly, positive thinking yields positive results; in my opinion! ;)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!
