Hello everyone,
VERY new to this process so I’m not that knowledgeable about what to expect. I’ve been in the Army over 10 years and in January started seeking treatment for mental health issues...fast forward to May and I was being recommended/sent off for a inpatient treatment hospital (28 days) that was supposed to help a ton and get things back on the right track. When I returned I had been diagnosed with Chronic PTSD and my physiatrist and therapist both thought it is best for me to start the MEB process (because things ARE WORSE). I just met with the PEBLO and VA person to go over all issues I would like to get checked out on the way out. They said I should be taking my physicals within the next few weeks and am just curious about what to expect and how to prepare for the best outcome? The following is what all I will be going in for:
1) PTSD
2) Insomnia
3) Obstructive Sleep Apnea (CPAP)
4) Left Shoulder (Surgery and not fixed)
5) Headaches
6) Bilateral Planters Fasciitis
7) Bilateral knee popping/locking pain
8) Vertigo
9) Skin Rash
10)Tinnitus
11) Right Forearm Tear (never repaired)
Not 100% sure what to expect through all of this but I’m assuming the goal is to get over 30% so I get retired? The only unfit condition should be the PTSD but I’m still trying to figure out how all that’s rated and works... I have also heard I need to have letters from family/friends/co-workers of how badly I am affected by these issue (MH) and what “happened” during deployments to cause this? Any advise or recent knowledge of the process is appreciated.
