Back in November 2018 I started to have shooting pain down both of my legs . I went and saw the pa they gave me steriods and told me to move along. They refered my to physical therapy I made the initial appointment wasn’t able to go back

Time went on and I went in again the next pa wanted an x-ray . Saw nothing
This happens a few more time finally they gave me an mri the found I have bulging disk in my back pushing on nerves

They referred me to a nuro- surgeon who wouldn’t do anything then to pain management where all they want to do is burn my nerves and put me though there program

A medic of mine told me that this is pretty much the start of your meb ....
I’ve never gone on profile for my back I had issues with if for sometime.

What the chances of me being medically retired or separated?

I’ve been in for 10 years and have servers other things wrong too

Along with your MRI, you should request an EMG to confirm nerve damage/ Bilateral Lumbar Radiculopathy. Having an EMG works in your favor if you are med boarded.

The military has to exhaust all options. And if you don't agree with the military get a referral to an off base specialist. A medic buddy of yours may have a little insight, but until you receive word from you PCM about an MEB I wouldn't get your mind too caught up into something that hasn't started yet.

First of all, this sucks man, and sounds very similar to how my early medical treatment went for my back injury.

As far as chances of being medically retired or separated, no one here can tell you that. However, if you aren't on a profile, then it would seem pretty clear Uncle Sam thinks you can do your job just fine, and in which case you would not be medically retired. If it does start to interfere with your job, and your docs document it, and put you on profile, then usually after a year you may be referred to an MEB for a chronic condition.

Finally went on profile for this. the team
I’m working with for all my issues that I’ve had and have hidden have come to light. Still awaiting to have my nerves burnt .
Hopefully with all this after the treatment I’ll be back in the fight. If not moving on with my life and starting the next chapter . Still unsure how all of the ratings work but I guess I’ll find out if that the way it ends up heading

Well my meb board is over 60 percent for my back, and 100 P&t . And I am on tdrl ? How dose that make sense?

Yes, that makes sense to me. The TDRL is the only questionable thing. Did they do the the RFA on your back?

I believe so, they did the diagnostic for burning the nerves but it didn’t work for me.
