MAFB Timeline(AD)

Update was deemed unfit for service on Feb 18th now with the VA for ratings
Was assigned a rater for my claim on the 21st my msc said I should have a proposed rating next Friday then it will be sent to IPEb so glad it's moving pretty fast

How do you know if you’re deemed unfit ? I signed my 618 today!
To know if you’re “unofficially” found unfit, you can reach out to your PEBLO and ask if your claim is “Pending DRAS”. This means that the IPEB has received your case and will send it to the VA to be assigned ratings.

Once the VA sends it back and the IPEB applies it, they will send paperwork back asking you to elect what option you want. When you receive that paperwork from your PEBLO/IPEB, then you’ve been found “officially” unfit.

Is it stuff you didn't put on your claim? This is one thing I am worried about because I got diagnosed with a TBI and visual snow and a few small other things that weren't listed on my VA form(wish my Msc explained this to me) but he said they might "invite me" to add it to the claim.
The pyramid effect is what it is called. My TBI was rated at 70% but the symptoms align with PTSD therefore the doctor cannot determine the separate effects of each condition, so they fall under each other and only 1 is rated so 70% TBI and 70% PTSD is rated once at 70%. Instead of TBI 70% + 30% or however the VA math equation works but yeah you only get one rating lol if they cannot seperate the conditions.

Ah ok seems like it's the same for me but from what I see my rating won't be affected

Have you heard anything back about your case? My case was also assigned a rater on the 21st. However, during my VERA appointment on 04 March I was told that my initial claim form was never uploaded. It's since been resolved and I'm hoping for the proposed ratings to come sometime this week.

It will be interesting to see the outcome since our timeline was assigned a rater at the same time. I'll let you know if I hear anything this week.

I’m in the same boat. I have a call today and Thursday with VERA. The last news that I had was that a rater was working on my claim as of 06 March

Mines been with a rater since Feb 18 afaik. My shirt just called and they asked my commander if they will approve convalescent leave so I think I just got an update on my case but waiting for my peblo to reply to my email.

"The only update I have is your case is still at ratings. The good news is the VA seems to be getting caught up a little. They last case I had there came back in 37 days and yours is at 26 days right now."

Have you checked your VA.go website? When I check the app, I see nothing. However, I just checked the VA.gov website and it shows that my claim has just been closed and that the BEL is ready. I have my VERA phone call less than 2 hours from now so I'm hoping to get my BEL emailed to me or at least find out my ratings. I hope yours is soon to follow!

If you can, try to figure out which regional office your claim is at and schedule a VERA phone call with that office. It's been extremely helpful in my case.

Yeah it's the same on the website nothing there. And I normally just walk into my msc's office and he looks at my claim from his tracker so, last time I scheduled a vera call instead of stopping by his office and he got upset because I didn't just ask him instead lol

Oh wow! I guess I can understand that a little lol. Maybe he didn’t think you trusted his ability. It’s a good thing that you have you MSC nearby. Hopefully he can give you more information soon.

Unfortunately, my MSC works from home and has not been the best communicator over my entire process. The VERA agents at the regional office where my claim is at have been phenomenal with giving information.
