So I was medically retired on July 31st, EAS July 30th from the USMC. 100% PDRL.
I’ve had two other Marines who were retired as well and their VA claims were finalized within 5 days of their retirement date. My claim is still sitting at “Complete.” I called the VA and all they told me was “You’re at the last step so just keep checking.” Did anyone else have the same experience with having to wait after their retirement date for disability to kick in? I’m trying to do the VR&E program but can’t until ratings are finalized. I genuinely have no income source as of right now because I can’t work.
