Ok I am still not getting how MH conditions are rated.

Say I have PTSD, major depressive disorder, general anxiety disorder.

Does the VA rate all of them, or just give you a rating on how it ALL has an affect in your life?

I am just not getting what is considered a secondary condition and how that's rated etc...

This topic has been discussed many times on this forum. Please use the search function.

Here is how the VA rates them: https://www.benefits.va.gov/WARMS/docs/regs/38cfr/bookc/part4/s4_126.doc

Here is how they get the percentages: https://www.benefits.va.gov/warms/docs/regs/38CFR/BOOKC/PART4/S4_130.doc

The VA will rate each and every single mental condition.

Say you have PTSD rated at 70% and MDD rated at 50% and GAD rated at 70%. The VA will assume the rating of the dominant (more disabling) condition.

The three different ratings will not be combined do to anti-pyramiding rules.

Typically, all mental health ratings are combined into a single rating. The percentage is based on impairment to occupational and social functioning.

Apologize. I forgot to use the search function. Thank you very much for your help!
