Migraines and getting referred for MEB

AD Army, starting in September after an FTX started getting severe headaches, possibly migraines, and started suffering from memory loss as well. Fast forward to the 1st of November where I ended up going to the ER with a migraine with vision loss. Since then I’ve been referred to see a neurologist which I’ve scheduled an appointment with about 3 weeks from now. Since that trip to the ER my migraines have been debilitating, happening almost daily, typically I get one day in between, intense throbbing on one side or the other of my head with extreme sensitivity to light and sound with some nausea. All I can do when I get one is lay down in a dark quiet room until it goes away, typically lasting 5-8 hours. Provider prescribed sumatriptan which has not really done anything to help. I do think it is service related due to my MOS being believed to cause TBIs due to being exposed to blasts. Those of you who ended up getting referred for MEB, how did it work? How long did the process take to receive the referral from your PCM? I only ask because since all of this started it has caused me to being feeling depressed.

I am also curious due to the fact that I am about to be married and my significant other and I would like to start a family within the next year or two so I am just worried about our future and would like to plan ahead for life after the army if that would be in the somewhat near future.

I am currently in the process of getting MEB for migraines, what would you like to know?

Whenever did they decide to refer you and what was the deciding factor in whether or not you got referred?im and Curren

I am currently in camp Humphreys, South Korea , I am being transferred to a SRU unit in Hawaii, I got referred by my neurologist after taking several medications and injections that did not work for me, I have migraines 3-4 times a week and I can barely get out of bed.

How long did it take them to try treating you before you got the referral?
My wife is in same situation but much further down the road. The military wants to give you time to find a medication that works. If nothing works then migraines would be unfitting and they would refer your to IDES. If they find a mediation that works you still may be referred to IDES depending on your MOS. The military can afford to have a desk jockey down for a few hours a week. That's not the same case for Infantry or a pilot. I would expect it to take at least 6 months if not more since they are going to want to try different treatments before deciding your condition is at the MRDP.
