NARSUM is on Friday

Hi everyone.

I've popped on and off of here a few times, but this is my first post. I finally finished my appointments and my NARSUM is on Friday.

I went through all of my DBQs and I tried to come up with an estimate for my ratings. If anyone more knowledgeable could take a look, I would greatly appreciate it. The one I'm the most unsure of is my left knee. I didn't see Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome in 38 CFR Book C.

What condition resulted in you being referred to PEB?
 
Lumbar Degenerative Disc Disease and left knee pain

I was only found unfit for the Lumbar DDD, AR 40-501, Ch 3-20h
(VA dx: degenerative disc disease and spondylosis thoracolumbar spine; lumbosacral strain)

My other conditions met retention standards. I am waiting on ratings and a response from the PEB.
 
My PEBLO is on leave for another weak, but I got this from the VA. I’m so excited for this process to finish!

Thank you! I’m expecting 20% DoD, but I prefer the severance check based on my current situation. I’ll keep updating you guys as things happen.

why do you prefer 20% DOD, i thought it’s better to have at least 30% or above to get retired medically instead of getting a severance taxed amount paycheck and you have to pay it back to them later?

The severance is effectively an interest free loan. Due to a divorce and some poor decision making skills, I have a hefty amount of debt I would like to knock out.

Thank you. I'm hopeful right now. That letter from the VA really help me get my head in the right place. My anxiety has been kicking my ass.
 
Just got off the phone. PEBLO is waiting on my 199.
 
Got my 199 today. 20% Army / 100% VA.

I'm content.

I am. I’m content with the severance check. I have a career lined up with great healthcare starting in June. I can’t risk that for tricare.

I received my proposed rating from the VA yesterday, I guess I wasn't supposed to and my PEBLO was supposed to get it first so I somehow slipped through the cracks, but that's the VA's fault according to my MSC.
I received 90% VA/20% DoD, I am in the same situation as you where I would rather deal with debt currently with that severance check. I think of it as an AER loan lol
When you say VA rating was completed on 07JAN, is that the proposed letter you got or the official one? My PEBLO has told me that he is still waiting on my DA 199 to come in so we can review it.
