051003. Service Member on Active Duty who Retires, is Placed on the TDRL, isDischarged with Severance or Separation Pay, or is Involuntarily Released withReadjustment or Separation Pay and Associated Dependent TravelA.
Eligibility
1. A Service member and his or her dependent are authorized PCS travel and transportationallowances when the Service member is on active duty and is issued orders for any of the followingconditions:
a. Retirement for a physical disability or placed on the TDRL, regardless of the length ofservice.
b. Retirement with pay for any reason, including transfer to the Fleet Reserve or FleetMarine Corps Reserve. The retirement must occur immediately following 8 years or more of continuousactive duty with no single break of more than 90 days.
c. Separation with severance or separation pay immediately following 8 years or more ofcontinuous active duty with no single break of more than 90 days.
d. Involuntarily release from active duty with readjustment or separation pay afterserving at least 8 years of continuous active duty with no single break of more than 90 days.
2. The Service member’s PCS travel and transportation allowances are authorized from thelast PDS to a home that he or she selects, known as the HOS. The dependent’s PCS travel andtransportation allowances are from the last PDS, or the place where the dependent was last transported at Government expense, to the HOS.
