NDDES papers were dropped on me at drill yesterday. No LOD from my 2011 Army deployment that gave me heart palpitations and adjustment disorder. Saw a DoD contract counselor while deployed for a few months but no diagnoses done or LOD done either. Joined Air Guard in 2014, commissioned 2015 and haven't done anything but small TDY's, 30 day temp AGR, schools and Covid Support Mission in early 2022 (Title 32 orders). That flared my PTSD symptoms bad and I sought treatment after at the and was diagnosed with PTSD 5/2022. No LOD done then.
Am I able to get an LOD for any of those times in service since PTSD counts as a "special circumstance" due to it being a latent condition that doesn't need to be reported within 180-days? I have 2 weeks to decide on the following: Retire now (I have 20 good years) or go through the NDDES and be retired with my normal Guard retirement. What can/should I do to stop the NDDES process and then secure an LOD to have my duty disqualifying condition tied to service for an MEB?
