OCONUS Timeline

Updated

Jan 2025 - Provider mentioned MEB for condition, started NARSUM

Feb 13 - NARSUM completed

Feb 19 - CIS Signed, Do Not Retain

Feb 27 - Full MEB (AFPC) notification, Found unfit

Mar 4 - Second PEBLO Briefing

Mar 13 - MSC briefing

Mar 14 - C&P Exams Scheduled

Mar 17 - First C&P Exam

Mar 17 through Apr 4 - C&P Exams

Apr 9 - Called Qtc, was told my exams were forwarded on Apr 8!!

Apr 11 - Peblo emailed stating they uploaded all documents, waiting for narsum addendums

Apr 16 - Peblo emailed me stating everything is finished and local MEB will be completed within 3 days

Apr 22 - Local MEB referred me to IPEB. Received all of my VA exam documents. They only identified one disqualifying condition. As per my documents and all of the research I've done, the % from that one condition should get me to that 'magical' DOD mark as my VA DBQ indicates that condition be 50-70% VA rating.

Apr 24 - Signed 618!

Apr 24 through June 6th - Called the VA and my MSC weekly. Only partially losing my mind during this period!

This week - got my ratings, 100% DOD (Full of happiness and tears as I realizing how f'd up I am)

TBD - Outprocessing Dates

June 27 - Orders dropped! DOS late Aug (nice^). Hoping to start terminal Aug 2nd. Relieved, excited, and nervous, yet somehow feel a reduction is anxiety.

Three things I want to mention to members starting a MEB:
1) Try to keep yourself busy throughout the process. This was very important for my health. Try to pick up a hobby! Keep your mind busy. You're going to worry about getting answers and the outcomes, staying busy will help with that worrying.
2) No one will advocate for you like yourself. Obviously you don't want to go overboard but seriously, no one will fight for you like yourself.
3) This is more situation based, but per AFI at this moment, you can do skillbridge while on MEB. Don't let someone tell you you can't. I can provide more info if needed on the SB during MEB process.

Best of luck to everyone here, thank you for the help and insight on things, and thanks for providing a sense of community.

If you don't mind me asking what base are you at and did you call to schedule your c&p exams? I just did my MSC briefing on Tuesday (Friday now for reference), not sure if I am overthinking it or should be calling VES

After getting in touch with my MSC and filling out the required paperwork, the provider (in my case QTC) reached out to me within a week. They were the ones that scheduled my appointments. I am techically oconus and I'm not sure if that process is the same for everyone else. From what I've gathered from these threads, a lot of these processes will be done by the order in which they were "filed" so it may simply be busy in your local area. I'd reach out if you don't get a call by Thursday just to let your MSC know.

Thank you, just got my exams scheduled, last one is 18 August. I am hoping that I can be home for the holidays but not sure if that is a realistic expectation. I am stationed at Kadena. Going to be calling the VA and MSC 2 times a week if that is what it takes to annoy them enough to get it done.
