Okay so my I have been working on getting a P3 profile from my primary care doctor for a bit now. AS of 9 Jan she said she would have it ready for this week and then start the MEB process. It was only going to be for me having sleep apena and not able to deploy cause of use of a BIPAP machine. My COC or command knew all this I kept them updated. Well behind my back they were talking to another doctor and gave them a copy of all my profile for the past 2 years. Which would have been 3 temp profiles totally about 4 months. Friday I got a email from work and it had a permanent P3 profile attached to it but if was for a bunch of stuff. Chronic back pain, knees, and also sleep apena. Its basically a deadmans profile says I cant do anything but wear uniform. It also says I havent passed a pt test in 3 years and am obese and recommends MEB. Now I wanted a MEB but I passed a PT test June of last year I just got my Height and Weight done passed that and body fat % about a month ago. I go to see this doctor on tuesday is there any way I can get them to at least take off the Obese portion and not passed a pt test in 3 years. I am debating on doing that cause like I said I want the MEB but not sure how it will affect it with those to false statements in there. One more question my NCOIC is asking for all past appt I already gave him a copy of future ones, I think they are trying to pull something on me here he mentioned a Chap 5-17 a few weeks ago, Does all that fall under Patient Privacy. Not sure about this DR he has been working with I haven't even seen him and he is not My Primary care DR. My COC has no rights to see my MED Records right? Well any help you can give more or advice that would be good I plan on trying to go see the Soldiers Counsel next week now that I have perm P3 profile to get some help.

just go copies of my last pt test so Tuesday going to get that doc to redo the profile.

The more stuff they have written on your P3, the better off you will be. They are saying these are things they can not improve by issuing a P3 and it will boost your chances of having all of that stuff looked at as unfitting conditions. I know you don't like the way it's written, but they are providing direct evidence all that stuff makes you unsuitable.

Right now your goal is to go through MEB. All of this supports you.

Yes, ranger is right. This benefits you! Your CoC did you a huge favor, even though the info isn't 100% correct. They were thinking to do some behind-the-back-to-screw-the-Soldier-over plan, but it backfired on their asses in a big way!

If you really feel that it is that detrimental to your character about the overweight and APFT failures, you can fight it using JAG since you have the proof once they initiate a 5-17. From what you said of having proof, there is going to be a short battle. From a medical stand point, it's beneficial!!!

well I guess for now I will hold on to the proof. one thing that's not on there that I want them to put on is the central and mixed apena they only have the obstructive one there. one more question I have migrains and that's not on there should I make sure its on there as well or just wait for that one when they in
itate MEB.

Just wait for the MEB to get rolling, everything should be on your NARSUM. The DoD won't rate most of the stuff unless they admit that it was caused by military service. The VA will take care of rating everything. Take time on this site and do some research on this site. There are many repostings and clearifications on what to expect and what to do and at what time. Keep us posted on hiw things are going for you!

Well it turns out that the P3 with all the obese and pt test didn't make it past the other doctors to get them to sign off on it. I meet with that doctor on Tuesday but PCM said the P3 she is working on is already signed off on so thats good. Hopefully I should have my P3 profile and Bipap machine next week.

The profile just begins the MEB process. A final profile will occur after you have your C+P exams. I would sit on the one they gave you since it gets you what you want. You risk them changing the profile all together. Mine was incorrect until I went to my C+P exams and was corrected there. Choose your battles and don't choose this one because you already won it. Put your effort into documenting the conditions you have for the C+P physicals. See (by looking at this site) what is needed in your record and get that done.

My feeling is that I would see legal counsel to see if you can refuse giving your past appointments. I don't know. Protect yourself.

yeah i was freaked out about my p3 profile because it only listed 2 things that they referred me to MEB for so I felt it was lacking. but i understand now they look at everything abd will consider other things not meeting retention standards.

obviously you want as much as possible on there. your PCM should have apnea, and migraines if they have been diagnosed. but whatever is on there to start the MEB is the important part. without a p3 referring you to MEB you will never get an MEB so just take the profile that comes in and it can be adjusted as you get your narsum etc.

My initial profile only included the one thing I was being referred for, later when I had other claims fail to meet retention standards they issued a new profile.

grizz13,

I think you mean unless it is unfitting. You seem to be talking about line of duty vs. unfitness here. Not trying to sharpshoot, just making sure there is no confusion.

Yeah I wasn't too clear on my statement, thanks Jason!

Submitted 13 feb still waiting on call from peblo. I am being told by my PA and a IDES worker there was some kind of problem with the submission and ides never received anything intially, so they had to resubmit. Great :( . Anyone have any way to track or check the IDES process, I have done a bunch of work to set up a skill bridge with a great company in my prior career field for after my VA exams are complete, but will likely have to push it back weeks/ months now, hopefully the company still wishes to take me on.
