I’m currently being separated from the Marine reserves on a medical discharge. My unit has not communicated much information with me and has pretty much left me hanging on a lot of things. I am wondering how the process would work, though. Is it the same all across the board? Do I need to do anything specific?

The Navy runs the process differently than the other services. They tend to find member's fit in situations other services would find members unfit. Other than that the process is roughly the same.
The lack of support from the service is universal. No one seems to know that hold a person's career in the air for months on end with no updates is unsettling. Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for that. For an update, my unit is finally letting me know more information. Would you happen to know anything about the disability process? That is the next step for me.
