I know this topic has bounced around these forums for quite a while. The question is: if an officer is medically discharged with a service connected disability before their initial 4 or 5 year scholarship or military academy commitment is complete, do they qualify for 100% post 9/11 GI bill benefits? I'm interested to hear recently medically separated JOs experiences with this type of situation. I may very well fall into this category soon, so I'm trying my best to prepare myself for what lies ahead.

Hey I've been in the same boat, and to answer your question YES if you're medically retired but NO if medically separated. You can get VR&E though in any case through the VA, just depends if yours are service connected.
