Provider got the wrong information

I just saw the provider last week because my unit heard a false rumor of me having cancer. I went in and requested a MRI to prove I don’t and they asked why this rumor started. I mentioned that in the past I was told I may have cancer but it wasn’t proven and I didn’t show any symptoms after that initial conversation with my doctor when I was younger. Another soldier heard about this and started saying I had cancer. Thing is the provider wrote down that I had a history with cancer and requested a MEB board for me. My worry is how will this affect me during this process since I have no records of cancer? If I stay in will they think I did a fraudulent enlistment? Will this affect my benefits such as the GI bill after? I’m getting the MRI and tests done to prove I have nothing and my medical history has nothing on cancer. The provider was adamant on sending me to the board and was definitely pushing it no matter when I tried to correct them. I’m just extremely stressed about this and wondering what my options are.

How long have you been in? if results show its cancer there is really no arguing about it. How did the provider know you had history with cancer? Was this information known at Meps? Everyone going into service has the presumption of good health even if certain conditions are found out later it can be service connected by the VA as an aggravated claim. If this is serious stuff that wasn't mentioned and they claim its EPTS that's different.

I’ve been in for over four years and the provider knew when they asked about the rumor she wrote down I had history with it just to make sure that I’m okay (they said my medical history should show if I did). I’m in good health I’ve always been (nothing was shown at meps I’ve never had cancer), thanks to this rumor and the provider freaking me out I’m stressed. I just want to know after my test show (or at least hopefully show unless I am sick) that I’m okay what happens?

If your okay then it's no big deal or maybe a misdiagnosis, we had someome medically retire for cancer then when he got out found out it was some other rare treatable disease and they had to let him back in so these issues do come up. Even if it is something serious catching it early makes a whole lot of difference if you have to get out at a later date you could either be retired or SC from the VA over it. Getting a specialist or second opinion is also an option.

I am okay, I should be doing an MRI this next week proving so and I haven’t heard anything about MEB since I saw the provider. So after all the tests (obviously if there’s something unknown to me that’s a bigger issue) and my medical history shows no actual signs of cancer this whole thing (MEB) will be dropped even if a shitty PCM (first and only time seeing them btw) wrote I had prior issues (which again I don’t)? do I get a second opinion during the MEB if I can or before? Thank you again I’m just extremely stressed

My doc put in my record that I had Type I Diabetes over 5 years ago. This popped up when I was going through my MEB for other issues. I had to get tested to show I didn't have it. Maybe the doc on mine hit a wrong button or got me confused with another patient. Weird things happen

So really all that matters is the MEB board and their physicians not my PCM. That’s good to know she really messed me up. Reading the replies really has helped me relax.
