Question about VA appointments and lost paperwork

So I am having huge problems with the VA, go figure on that one. I originally went for all of my appointments from my original claims. Then a few days after my last one, I get a call from someone at the VA office confirming another appointment I had, which was a surprise to me. They informed me they lost part of my physical evaluation and range of motion test and they needed me to re-do it. Then months after taking care of all of this, while I'm at the IPEB, they send down another request for me to return to the VA and have them do ANOTHER range of motion test on me. This will be my third range of motion test done my the same doctor since he lost the first 2. When I go back for the third time, am I allowed to get a copy of everything they do? I think the system they work with is VISTA and I know the military MEB people don't have access to this, which is another failure on the DES Pilot program.

I would imagine you would be able to get copies at the front desk, or if they have some sort of designated station to do so. Over on the VBN forum I believe they have had questions like this answered.

Personally from now on I would request copies of all files that they do on your case. I'm sure you have a safe place where your doctor won't go through your paperwork and toss out important information, after all. ;)

Alright, I will not ever leave the VA again without copies of everything. The first time, I thought it was a fluke misake and things happen. But them losing my stuff twice is outrageous! Thanks for your help.
