Good morning all,

I am in need of some comforting/reassurance. I just wrapped up my final C&P appointment on 8 Feb 21. I received a call yesterday from my PEBLO about possibly going in an signing some papers to push my case forward. I received another call today about my case being deferred because I am leaving on Monday for 30 day in-patient treatment for my mental health condition. My PEBLO stated she was deferring my case so that time line are not missed on both sides. To include my rebuttal/independent medical review of my case files. Did my PEBLO defer my case because she may think I will disagree and rebut the information she is about to give me? Also how much long does this extend my case till I receive ratings? I'm literally freaking out.

Thank you.

the deferral is procedural. It happens anytime the timeline can't progress due to surgery or other heath concerns. It can be pressed forward if there are consistent health issues prolonging the IDES timeline, but a single deferral isn't uncommon.

In your case you will not be available while inpatient. Thus the process is suspended for that period of time. This protects you. If you have 10 days to sign something, your days inpatient will not count toward the 10 days. Your PEBLO is protecting you and your interest.
