Okay, so a lil background to my ridiculously long story...I was involved in an MVA 6 1/2 yrs ago, seatbelt broke, I was ejected, suffered tons of injuries, accident was found in LOD. Over the years I have been on several profiles lasting longer than 12 months, but no MEB was ever started. I came very hesitantly made the desicion in January 2008 to pursue an MEB. I'm stationed at Fort Meade and primed to Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center (KACC). I completed part 1 of the process in Feb, then part 2 in March. They lost it, so I had to redo it, in June/July. I met with my PEBLO in August. Had my appts at the VA in August/Sept. Results from VA were returned to PEBLO in November. I was supposed to ETS December 2, 2008 with 10 years AD.
I filed an IG complaint, because I received one extension until May 2, and another one intil June 2, and one more until September 2. And I wasn't paid on May 15th for some reason. And I cannot interview for future employment because I do not know when I am separating. I also have received 2 referral EPR's since I cannot pass the AC measurement of the AFPT test, which is unfair, because I am being separated because I can't pass the AFPT test, and I have doctors corroboration. OK. To make a long story longer...sorry... I was told by the IG that medical retirement is reserved for injuries that are combat related or when the Air Force is at fault. He spent (wasted) a half hour explaining to me that there was a difference between retirement and disability rating and one was not based on the other. I have heard and read different. I can't find a website that specifies. Can anyone help? I know I could have just asked the question without the whole story...what can I say I like to hear the sound of my own typing...
