Run 100 Yards with a 40lb RuckSack - Where does this come from?

I have been told that if you can run 100 yards with a 40 pound ruck sack that you are considered deploy-able or something like that. My PEBLO said that should go in my NARSUM if I can do that. I have also heard it around the Air Force over the years, but where does this come from and what good does it do?

Thanks in advance for any support you can provide.

Never heard that but if true, I am definitely not deployable lol

Can't even do this without a 40 pound sack

Each combatant commander sets medical standards for deployment into his/her AOR. The 100 yard run with 40 pounds is a CENTCOM requirement. They figure cover was available within 100 yards and you have to tote your battle rattle.
