Questio: If sleep apnea up to 50% disabling by US VET Affairs due loud snoring, CPAP, etc...which could give away one's position in the bush- i.e. security issue for combat dismounted patrol/recon- and a service member devlop's it while on active duty- should they be allowed to stay on active duty or be moved to more secure branch like combat support-service support that generally does not have to deal this particular issue (dismounted combat patrols/recons etc...) within their respective service component? Or should they be medically separated???See for example only following web-article: The Bad "Secret" Change to VA Sleep Apnea Rules

Think more than a valid question, especially if those say BSA Troop(s), sports teams, college roomates calim never heard vet snoring routinely (see for examples only: boy scouts america uniform pictures at DuckDuckGo )

Thanks, and hopefulyy some clarification this question by "super-moderator's" if written clearly enough.....????

PS:

I US Arrmy some supposedly been told it is not the "Boy Scouts of America"- if that is true (see above web-linK ) as well as, for example only, maxed out us army uniform+ tabs at DuckDuckGo then why s it apparently some good officers and NCO's without badges and tabs, but more than technically and tacticlly proficent- proved thgemselves combat- cannot perhaps get ahead or are faced with some type "glass cieling?" The US Army, apparently OIF- would neither "frock" officers-NCO's next rank, am not aware any battlefied commissions OIF, nor was it authorized award "stars" things like Combat Infantryman Badge, etc.... (see for example only, if interested: Combat Infantrymens Association and Combat Infantrymen's Association )

Or perhaps a better question would be, if not already, on US Military Recruiters list of questions to ask: "Do you snore?" and then perhaps test as part of enlistment physical....

Problem with all this might perhaps be IAW following article on very high % US youth ineligible Military service, perhaps...see if interested: Up to 75 Percent of US Youth Ineligible for Military Service as well other similar articles.....

Furthermore, what does the say if the US Government every had to rely on the "draft" and the many questions surrounding it such as "females must register too"....????

Thanks and may be interested in following:

Was hoping some feedback, as was wonder what really veterans think of the "Sleep Apnea" dilemma and a rating of 50% disabling, that there has been so much debate about for various reasons other than just the 50% rating.....????

Per above posts this is in fact a serious issue those active duty and in combat, might have deal with- that could lead to compromise or other issues- so for some clarity see the below selected web-articles for example among many others:

-This could possibly tie into issues (?) at PEB Forum Thread : "Of the 5-Human Senses Are Loss Of Smell And Taste Compensated By The US Department of Veterans Affairs!" Thread starter Former MiTT Team Leader Start date Friday at 1:33 PM once again those interested perhaps????

Hope this might spark some discussion......

PS: Those interested can request Wikipedia create an article- which did not know until recently: see for example Wikipedia:Articles for creation - Wikipedia if interested this type of thing......

Still issues this website....

PS: With so many US veterans in the US Federal and State "penal" systems.."Sleep Apnea" and other related "sleep disorder's can place them at further risk other inmates annoyed by their snoring or staying awake all night....

One is simply most vulnerable when one is asleep...and IAW some vets served time Federal and state jails...other prisoners will in fact on the best side wake one up if snoring loudly! On the worst side other inmates will try and start fights or attack one in their sleep......or supposedly even threaten poke one's eyes out with sharp object as allegedly occurred Gulf Coast VA vet in Mobile AL County jail by an "illegal immigrant" from South of the US border, they were unfortunately placed in overcrowded and broken cell with (toilet/sink -showers- not work..leaks from above cells...etc...)....?????

Posted a book, not as an endorsement, but to simply demonstrate how easy it is to unwittingly become a Federal prisoner....so if interested please see: How to Become a Federal Criminal

Across the board Sleep Apnea is huge issue beyond any US VA 50% rating as questions VA Asks about this condition include "falling asleep stopped at a traffic light" (approximation verbiage) which not only affects US Veterans but US citizens in the general population as well....

Thanks.......and wonder what others think.....
