Hello all new here!
I’ve been out of service since 2010. I was originally rated at 80 than 90% being paid at 100% because of unemployability, and most recently 100% P&T and individual unemployability at the same time as well as well. “Not sure why both at the same time”. PTSD rated at 100% and other disabilities rated separately. I tried to join the workforce while getting unemployability and resulted in not being able to adapt very well and ended up resigning after getting my 100% P&T rating. I recently applied for SSDI After 5 months of resigning from my job. I was wondering how’s the experience been for some of you applying for SSD. Where appointments scheduled by SSA or did they go off from the VA award letters? How long was the process. My main concern is getting denied SSD and having to appeal. How would the SSA expect me to work if the VA has deemed me unemployable and to be 100% P&T disabled. Thanks for any info.

SSA doesn’t care if your 100% PT VA or not. Your VA ratings don’t make it easy to get approved SSDI.

I’d recommend researching the SSA blue book and look up your conditions there. They have thier own criteria separate from the VA.

Im confused by all of this how long have you been on on IU and how long how have you been out of work? SSA decisions are just a lot more chaotic with their determinations 30% of 100% rated vets get denied so the odds are in your favor but it just really depends on your record and what it says. Oftentimes when you are denied by the SSA they claim your VA record is either empty or absolutely doesn't support that claim that you are totally disabled and they have no clue how the VA came to that conclusion.
