Stop Loss and MEB, complicated situation....

I have approximately 3 months left until my ETS and am getting sent to an MEB for sleep apnea requiring CPAP. I was told I could not deploy to Afghanistan with my unit but can to Iraq. Currently I'm non-deployable to either because I'm undergoing an MEB. If all goes well and it takes 90 days I will be done with my MEB about 2 weeks before I ETS. I just heard that my Sergeant Major's intentions are to send me to a unit that is already in Iraq once my MEB is complete with just two weeks or less in the Army. Should I be transitioning while I am going through the MEB? If I am found fit for Iraq but not Afghanistan with such a short time left in service is there any basis for defending my case to seperate? If my MEB takes longer than 90 days and I get extended and they just stop loss me to the new ETS date that I got extended too? It just seems like they will find every loophole they can to screw me over and stop loss me right when I'm supposed to be getting out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

First thing is and I do not remember the exact timeframe but 3 mounths is well with in the timeframe. According to regulation you cannot PCS even interpost if you are with in a certain window of exit. If you are in an MEB then you cannot PCS unless the PCS is so that you can undergo a MEB (some MTF's do not complete MEBs). So that takes care of that worry for you. AR 40-501 (Army standards of Medical Fitness) dated 10 September 2008 has sleep apnea as an unfitting condition. http://www.army.mil/usapa/epubs/pdf/r40_501.pdf
this is the link for the regulation. Read over it and you will see what it says about your case. There are 3 different levels of sleep apnea two that use cpap if you have sever you go to a MEB right now if you do not have sever then you have to be on cpap for a year and then retested. The reg explains it all. For the MEB stuff see AR 40-400 chapter 7. This should answer most of your questions straight from the horses mouth so to speak.

It says you can deploy under certain conditions, basically with a power outlet and stable environmental conditions. Iraq is a go my according to what my SRP told me and Afghanistan is not. The problem they are going to use that loophole to send me to a unit that is already in Iraq as soon as I'm done with my MEB with literally a week or two before my ETS. How does that work? I've heard they can't deploy you if you have shipped your housing goods, and they have to move me to that units UIC to stop loss me and as you said I can't PCS that close to my ETS correct?
