Not sure how true this is, but somebody told me I'd still be covered under Tricare for 180 days after my ETS, if I medboard. Is this true? I'm trying to find something in writing.

It depends-
If you go thru the process and are medically separated then yes- 180 days
If you are retired thru the process then you keep tricare- it would be standard or the option for prime (with fee)

Ditto

Yes I just did it, its not automatic, you have to go to Deers with your DD214 and update your ID Card and you are covered under "TAMP" to include your family members

Can you do this while on transition leave or did you have to wait until after ETS date?
