VA Reconsideration of Ratings

I'd like to know the answer as well. My husband got his results back from the VA, and we didn't agree with the rating on one of his conditions. He was rated 90% PDRL from the army and 100% from the VA, but he was given a 0% rating for a condition that we felt should have been rated either 20 or 30%. It won't change his compensation, but we weren't comfortable moving forward in the PEB without putting it on record that we disagreed with the rating. It has been three weeks, and I am anxiously awaiting the results. I've learned to be patient throughout this whole process, but now that we see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's hard!

Oh, I forgot to saw that our paperwork is at the WA VA, which I have heard is exspecially backed up. I'm hoping that the reconsiderations go into a different stack, and not back to the bottom of the pile.

My PEBLO stated that if I was to make the request, he was told "about" a month. Expectation management would be add about 50% to what I've been told.

I'm sure a large part of the time it takes to process will be decided on how many cases the VA Regional Office is handling at the time, how many trained personnel they have to do the appeals (did they just lose one or two physicians or are the physicians handling appeals taking vacation), and the complexity of the appeal.
