Hello @Reginald3599

Estimate using your info.

First, you might receive more in pay from DFAS by remaining with CRDP. You should receive all your retired pay plus your VA COMP.

With CRSC, your retired pay is reduced by the amount of your VA compensation = zero retired pay remaining.
Your CRSC would be the amount in the VA comp tables for 90% with wife and two kids plus possibly 128.62 for SMC-k:
2,486.39 plus 90 = 2576.39 and maybe 128.62 with K

It appears that with the CRSC tax advantage, CRSC could be best even if it is a bit short of the 2611 waiver/offset

DFAS will automatically pay the higher of CRSC or CRDP.

This estimate uses your info and assumes 2611 is the gross retired pay on your RAS.

Good luck,
Ron

If I get an increase CRSC to 100%, I could get the VA comp rate at 100% for my CRSC? Which would mean I would get $4,200 for VA disability and $4,200 for CRSC?

Hello @Reginald3599

CRSC replaces waived retired pay. Consequently, the highest amount of CRSC you can receive is $2611 based on the info you provided.

There are several different scenarios in many CRSC cases, but the primary factor in your case is that the CRSC will not exceed the amount of waived retired pay.
