Aug 13th 2024: Found unfit by PEB. PEBLO stated will take 30-60 days at VA for rating, then go back to the PEB for % on DoD referred conditions after which, case will be ready for the acceptance/rejection of findings at local office.

Aug 30th 2024: Called VA to inquire about case status. Informed by rep that they just received the case yesterday from IDES and is awaiting rating assignment. No completion timeline provided.

Sept 23rd 2024: Claim closed in VA App. Called and asked for my proposed rating/decision letter to be emailed to me. The first 2 people wouldn't provide it/acknowledge it, finally a third person told me that the letter was dated for Sept 24th and to call and ask for it again tomorrow. Received a call from QTC to schedule a follow up exam to clear up a discrepancy from a previous exam (as requested by the VA). Found this odd as the VA claim reflected closed in the app. Called the VA directly to inquire about the need for the repeat QTC exam and they confirmed (although they wouldn't say what the discrepancy was).

Sept 24th 2024: Called the VA 1000 number again and got them to send me my proposed rating letter on the 3rd try. When I called each time I pretty much said "I noticed a claim has closed on the VA app and it says a decision letter has been mailed to me, would it be possible to email me that letter?''

Sept 25th 2024: Attended QTC repeat exam.

Oct 7th 2024: Received findings

*76 Days at PEB

Oct 22nd 2024: Signed findings

(Repeat VA exams were in reference to non referred conditions and did not affect overall timeline. The VA findings packet I received at my findings counseling reflected that the claimed conditions which required the repeat exams were still being rated.)

Per PEBLO, should receive retirement orders within 2-4 weeks

Have you got any word on your Orders?

My PEBLO said 30-45 days from signing findings until I get orders and it’s been 47 days. Still waiting on orders. Signed findings on 18 September and my name was on the PDRL posted on 02 October.

Yeah I understand that stress. I’m about to sign my findings but my hope is to get out end of January. I’m glad it has a date on the PDRL because I was worried I’d have to wait for orders in order to get that date.

Yeah it’s been nice knowing the date in order to start the check out process and prepare for everything. But every time you complete a step it seems like another stressor comes up. I wouldn’t be too worried about the orders if I had a 214 in hand. My MSC is waiting for me to send it to him but hands are tied at the moment. Hope you get your PDRL message and orders quickly! And start checking out as soon as possible. That date comes up soo fast

Yeah my checkout won’t be to bad I have leave like almost all of December already with TAPS in mid December. I’m hoping with the added 20 days of HH/JH PTDY and my remaining leave they will put my date to end of January!

I am confused. If your separation date is in Nov, you should've done taps already and be on terminal now.

From my PEBLO, it’s a myth that your PDRL EAOS date is determined considering how much leave you have etc. I had over 60 days of leave when I signed findings and when the PDRL came out. They told me PERS is trying to get people out ASAP and won’t consider your leave balance.

It’s me who is done this month, not @Corpsman2015. I’ve done taps and all the required paperwork already, just don’t have orders yet. Only PDRL message has my new EAOS on it

I’ve heard that too. I also heard it’s typically 45-90 days so I’m hoping it’s then hahaha. Plus all the holidays coming up might shift it.

I guess selling back leave will give us some cushion until we get our retirement/disability.
