This is my timeline so far. Going on 3 weeks now waiting for Consult results and my PEBLO says they have until Dec. 5th to complete it. She said once results are in, MEB Doc has 10 days to complete NARSUM? Most of the guys I know on Schofield going through an MEB typically have gotten NARSUM about a month after completing VA consults.. Its looking like I wont make that timeline.
 
WTF.... I was expecting a NARSUM any day now and out of the blue I get a call that they want to do a couple more consults for TBI. SO NOW, I have to wait for these appt's and then spend all that time waiting again for the NARSUM to be written up. So pissed.

Once your package has been sent to the PEB, is there anyway to track the progress of it besides bugging your PEBLO? Ebeneits is worthless. It still says "Gathering Evidence" and the "My MEB/PEB" in AKO just says no record found in the "PEB portion.

Out of curiousity, how did you find out that you were found unfit? From the PEBLO? Did you get a letter in the mail? How many things did you have on your claim and how many of those we're considered not meeting medical standard on your NARSUM? The reason why I ask is because I too am at Schofield and we probably have the same PEBLO. They never update the MEB/PEB on AKO and my stuff has been at the PEB for a month and a half and still haven't heard anything. Not that it's been that long, but of course impatience gets the best of me when I read so many encounters of folks gertting found unfit just a week or two after the packet's been sent to the PEB. Thanks.
 
Drewsky, I am at Fort Sam. My PEBLO emailed me a copy of the unfit letter. The PEB emailed it to her when they sent it to the VA. The letter is directed to the VA saying that you have been found unfit. It lists what conditions they considered unfit and ask for your ratings consideration with detailed explanation. My MEB/PEB on ako were never updated either. You can talk to your PEBLO or to your MSC (the VA Representative that scheduled your VA exam appointments) to see if they have received the letter yet.
 
Well like Biohazard said, from my PEBLO. Im lucky enough to have a really good PEBLO who tolerates me bugging her on a pretty constant bases.. She called me and told me she got the memo and I went over to Tripler and picked it up. I had 7 total claims but only one that was deemed "not meeting medical standard". My "MEB/PEB" on AKO stopped updating after the MEB portion and my Ebenefits still says "gathering evidence" even though there now in the process of rating my conditions as per the VA rep I talked to yesterday. Depending on the complexity of your claims, it can take longer or shorter then others. There moving along at a pretty good speed now and I think it would be worth a call to your PEBLO today because you might be surprised to find you were already found unfit and your packet is now at VA. You need to constantly be the squeaky wheel through this process because you can see how its easy for it to stall and get lost in the shuffle. I should have about one less month on my timeline as you can see because VA and QTC had some bad communication and I had to wait another 1.5 months to do a QTC appt. when I thought I was due my NARSUM.
 
I am curious to see how fast yours goes. I am running around the same time frame as you are. I also have one condition that was found unfit and both of ours went to VA around the same time. I kept checking ebenefits but I was told it is worthless and tried to call yesterday to see if the site was up to date with what was actually going on. Which it is stuck on reviewing the evidence. After about 30 minutes on hold I finally got an agent. Then I spent about 5 minutes going back and forth as we tried describing two different things. Apparently he was stuck on telling me that I needed my DD214 after I ETS for them to finish the ratings even though I was telling him I am currently going through a MEB and I won't be getting out until they finish the ratings. Waste of time. I've given up on the AKO MEB updates. So I guess we should be seeing nearly the same timeline.

BTW....who is your PEBLO? I am on Schofield also and I have Natasha. She has been awesome to me. Can't complain.
 
My PEBLO is Christina. Very nice and helpful lady and very easy on the eyes. I had the exact same expierence with the 1-800# last time I called. They just kept asking for the 214 when all I wanted to know was about the status of my ratings. Come to find out, majority of the VA reps on the phone are clueless about the IDES process. It's all very frustrating because it seems that place is just a black hole with no ability to get info from. Why did it take the PEB so long to get your memo to the VA? Like you, I'm hoping to get some ratings soon. If I hit the 60 day mark and still have nothing, I'll see if DAV can help me out. At least yours says, "review of evidence". Mine has been stuck at "gathering evidence" since I created the account.
 
Not sure why it took so long to get there. I'm guessing the holiday season. I actually emailed her with another question and she just informed me about this. And I think I know which woman you are talking about. First office to the left as you walk into the door at PEBLO?
 
No, Christina had the office thats the first door on the right before you even get to the actual PEBLO main office where the secretary desk is. She just recently moved offices to the far back right corner.
 
MYBAMF I am Navy here in Hawaii and I was also found unfit (7JAN13) and packet forwarded to VA. I was informed the VA is a bit behind right now due to the Holiday season (some DEC packets are still waiting). Just wanted to give you a heads up that it might be a bit slower right now. I feel like up to this point its been quick for me too. Good luck!
 
Jacqueline, Thank you for the heads up... I have also heard they were a little backed up at the moment and it would make sense that it would be from the holidays. I guess timing has never been my thing..... or patience ;)
 
Patience is so not my thing either. I just keep telling myself its just one more full paycheck each month I have to wait lol
 
My PEBLO emailed me today and told me VA Seattle is significantly backed up and that it might take 4 months or more before I get something back. So.... Im not sure what to think. I have a very good job waiting for me and it sucks because I dont know what to tell them. 2 months? 6 months? A year? I dont know... It was discouraging to here though.

Don't say that. My peblo she was told in a meeting they are looking at 60 days at least. I can't do another 2 months of this. Like you I have a job lined up and can't do anything and nothing to tell them. I have people in my platoon getting chaptered and are done on feb 27. I know they don't have anything medical. Both ad for over weight, one is even getting honorable discharge. So he can go through va afterward and get something. Shouldn't take this long, ides should get priority.
 
I just saw another member on here get there ratings today and VA received their unfit memo just a few days before mine. Im crossing my fingers that I see mine maybe within the next few days...
