Flying Under the Radar - For 5 Years?

Update: My annual physical health assessment had the following statement: "Member does not meet MSD. Cannot place profile in ASIMS. Coordinate with member’s PCM to start Limdu paperwork." My PCM is Air Force, and is working on the paperwork to send to the Navy. I have no idea how this process...

Flying Under the Radar - For 5 Years?

The orders to the Air Force base (joint assignment) are for 3 years, but the Navy likes to pull you at the 2 year point sometimes. I've been very upfront about my situation with the detailer, and given my point in my career not going to sea anyway I might have some flexibility.

Flying Under the Radar - For 5 Years?

Not sure if this is the right page. 37 yo Navy O-4 with 15.5 years service. Undergoing cardiac sarcoidosis treatment (autoimmune issue causing inflammation of heart) and got permanent pacemaker/defibrillator implanted in March. Other than some minor symptoms (mostly due to corticosteroids), I...

Navy: Surprised "Fit" Finding and Short Timeline

Thanks for your post with this info. I’m currently awaiting the process to get started as I got a pacemaker a couple months ago. I feel great and want to stay in but wasn’t sure if possible. I’ve heard that the reference above apply to MEB but PEB has more discretion? Don’t know for sure...

Pacemaker on Active Duty - Chance for Retention?

I can't find anything online about any current TERA options. That would definitely make a lot of sense to do so as my TERA retirement plus VA (if 50%+) would be much more than just DoD disability if rated at 30%. I'm conflicted as I strongly want to stay in and want to fight to show that this...

Pacemaker on Active Duty - Chance for Retention?

Pacemaker on Active Duty - Chance for Retention?

I've tried searching this thread and haven't seen this answered yet. I'm a 37 yo Navy O-4 with about 15 years in. After COVID in December started having some fatigue/exercise issues and bradycardia episodes. Three months later I'm the new owner of a pacemaker/defibrillator due to what they...

Questions concerning PEB outcome and PCSing while LIMDU

I am an officer with about 15 years, and set to PCS this summer before health issues came up. I just received a pacemaker/defibrillator 4 days ago due to high degree heart block post COVID (likely triggered an auto-immune issue). I want to avoid PCS if possible for the same reasons as you. Not...
