    Seattle Regional VA Timelines:

Took transition leave 5 Feb and officially retired 15 Apr. Received VA and Army retirement pay today. I was expecting to not see any money for the next 4 mos. They really must've fixed the system or I'm one of the lucky ones. My whole process took less then 12 mos. :D

    My timeline

Congrats. I signed my 199 on 15 Jan and got my LOR 20 Jan. I have less then 2 weeks to clear before my trans. leave starts! But it's finally over...almost! GL to everyone else.

    Advice on next step...

Thanks so much for the help and advice! Now I'm waiting on PEB and ratings. Hopefully this part of the process doesn't move at snail speed...

If medically retired, do you get military retirement pay...

Until your VA disability payment kicks in? Or are you just waiting the whole time for the VA to start paying you?

    Advice on next step...

Thank you. I asked for a IMR to see if I can get my migraines bumped up to not meeting retention standard. No harm in trying. I rather fight for higher VA ratings for that while I'm still AD, instead of doing it later on.

    Advice on next step...

The attorney reviewed my NARSUM and 3947 and told me that I can expect at least 30% from DoD and 50% or more from VA. Good! My issue is I'm worried about my VA rating for my migraines due to what the MED doc wrote on my NARSUM. I've have been seen multiple times within the past 2 yrs and have...

NARSUM, DA 3947, and C&P results are in. Question.

Yeah, I actually have been thinking about what's better for more future. I just don't know if I have the patience or tolerance to potentially fight the good (and long) battle. I talk to my PEBLO and lawyer tomorrow. So, I'm wishing for the best!

NARSUM, DA 3947, and C&P results are in. Question.

TBH, I don't care what DoD gives me, I care what the VA gives though. And my NARSUM and profile say that I can't do jack squat, including my MOS or basic soldier skills such as firing a weapon.

NARSUM, DA 3947, and C&P results are in. Question.

Hi Grizz. Yes they have it one my NARSUM under "Meeting Medical Retention" but next to it they have (not claimed on VA C&P exam). Well, I didn't claim it because I didn't know I have it! It's also on my 3947. So, they're going to go ahead and rate it? Thanks!

    Absent commander...

This is the same situation with my commander. He is 3.5 hrs away from my duty station. What he did was have my OIC, who works daily with me and knows all my issue, write up the NARSUM and my commander just signed whatever he wrote. You can try something like that. Maybe you have a squad or...

    PLEASE HELP WITH MY NARSUM

My NARSUM is a bit different. That looks like the pre-NARSUM, the one they type up before you do your C&P exams. My MEB doc showed me mines when I had my appt with him. It was 2 pages. Now that I have the real one, it's 9 pages. I think you will get another that reflects your C&P results after...

headache syndrome/migraine as condition to meb and documentation help

The most important things for migraines is the documentation and how many meds he's been on. Letters from family, friends, and bosses also help. I had my OIC write a letter detailing how debilitating my migraines are since I don't go to sick call every time I get one.

NARSUM, DA 3947, and C&P results are in. Question.

Yes, the doctor was able to feel upon palpation. I had xrays done, like A LOT of them during my exam, but she didn't xray my wrist. And yes, this seems to be really going. But I hear the longest wait will most likely be for the ratings to come in so I'm not going to start celebrating yet.
