I'm in the same situation I know this post is 8 yesrs old but why not try I'm currently going through with the MEB process I refused spinal injections for the same reason did refusing injections hurt your case at all ?

Ok so if you got 80 total and DOD technically your pay would be 70% DOD

So for example they take 10% rating which would be $142 or do they take old 10% of your whole rating for example $1000 would make it $900

Do you by any chance know how they recoup the payment

So correct me if I'm wrong they take out the 20% dod rating which is $281

Or do that they take the 10% at a VA rate like for example VA 10 % rate on the pay chart is$142 would they take that or 10% of your total
