    MED Board Help/Questions....

In my case it was the pain management clinic that started my MEB. I am stationed at Fort Bliss but had my surgery by pain mangement done in San Antonio. The doctor there wrote my P3 and than to switch it to the right region the MEB people themselves rewrote it so my MEB could be done local...

    COAD recommendation letter

zjones, I will send you my COAD examples later this afternoon. To all: my COAD was disapproved and I will final out of the Army today. Unfortunelty, with the downsizing and everything else it will be difficult to be retained. Also, don't forget you need the first O6 in your chain of command to...

    MED Board Help/Questions....

I also have CRPS/RSD and a neurostimulator. In my case as soon as the neurostimulator was emplaced they started my MEB due to having the device implanted and being non deployable from that point. I am not sure what your profile states but my stim is a cervical one and therefore it prohibits my...

    COAD recommendation letter

Just so you all are tracking my COAD packet was kicked back from PDA because the requirements have changed. With the letters of recommendation, one needs to be signed by on O6 in your chain of command. This change occured in early Jan and there is a new checklist. Now I have my fingers crossed...

    Need insight

The neurostimulator itself does NOT get rated. they view it as a treatment and there is no ICD-9 code that is associated with it. This was the explanation that was given to me. Good luck with your stim!!

    COAD recommendation letter

Giosell, I just recently put in my COAD packet. I have some examples of the letters that were written on my behalf. I would be happy to send you a copy of these letters, however, I am not really sure how to attach them to this forum. If you would like to send me your email I am can attach them.

    Contemplating Appealing???

When I contacted legal he said "take the money and run". Yes, I do want to remain on active duty. I don't feel as though the neurostimulator nor the lack of range of motion of my neck impedes on my ability to be a MI officer. I suppose I just confused because I want to stay in, however, I am...

    Contemplating Appealing???

Pittpan2005....do you know if it is too late at this point to appeal my neck. I did sign the 199 and did appeal the administrative data...ie combat related. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Sometimes it feels as though we go through this process all alone.

    Contemplating Appealing???

Thanks for the reply Trevis. This system is so confusing and I feel that I am most likely not going to get what I should. However, I did sign my 199 and appealed the combat related. Waiting on a disposition on that and my COAD packet. I truly hope they keep me but in the end I feel it is a min...

    Contemplating Appealing???

thank you for your reply. I went to legal and the bottom line is that I would need to get an additonal P3 for my neck, however, when I went to ortho spine to get it they said that there is nothing physically wrong with the structure of my neck and they wouldn't write a P3. The other issue was...

    Contemplating Appealing???

I am hoping that someone can help me with a few questions that I have. I recently recieved my 199, 50% DOD and 60% VA (there are a tone of discrepancies with the VA that will engage them about at a different time). Nonetheless I agree with the 50% from DoD (Disqualifying condition was RSD with...

    Spinal Cord Stimulator VA rating

I would also like to know the answer to this. The Army implanted a cervical neurostimulator in me in March which triggered my MED Board. The stim is suppose to alleviate pain in my left arm but considering it is very dependant on the position of my neck, it works somewhat. I am still trying to...
